Summer is in full swing now, and what better time to curl up with a good book and your latest WIP. Our newest Bag of the Month fabric is perfect for the literary lover trapped in a fiber artist’s body! This fabric is original and bright, and is sure to help speed along your UFOs just from the sheer joy of getting to cart it around in your new Alice bag!

July sped by and it is now August, time really does fly. I was so caught up in different things last month, that I never got a chance to have a Button Set of the Month, so for August we’ll have two! ; ) Mommy picked this month’s special sets and they will be the last of the bright, “summer” buttons on sale for a little while now.

One of the sets is brand new and the other has been around for a while! The Bella buttons are a set of 2 ~ 1″ buttons, I have a few colors listed in the shop but they can be ordered in any color using the handy color chart, just check out as normal and leave me a comment if you want the color changed! Or if you would like pictures first just let me know, & I’ll be happy to make them up for you!
The Bella buttons are only $2.50 for a set of 2!

The second set is very new, and just listed in the shop, the Gradient Flower Buttons. I’ve only done them in pink so far, but I’m hoping to have more color schemes for you to see soon. I think they would look really pretty in different shades of a pearly aqua/teal color. Anyway, they are a set of 5 ~ 3/4″ buttons! Sale price… $6!

And lastly, I wanted to show you a fun button I made recently! The first are about an inch in size and would make for a great embellishment! Bumble bees! And the others an aqua and pearl flower button set! I love these. ; )

Thank you all so much for looking, have a wonderful day! ~ Hannah

After the lovely write-up by Indie Untangled, I’m ashamed how long it took for me to announce a shop update. But never fear. The next update will happen Tuesday, August 5 at 3 p.m. Eastern. We have a bundle of goodies waiting for you. Highlights to include our latest Special Edition Gradient (Heliotrope Continuum), some brand new colorways, and two spanking new bases: Orbit Sport and Astral Sport. So please join us. Hope you can stop by.

I love playing with colors, blends and textures! On this new update, I added a few drum carded batts. Each has a melange of different types of fibers that will make the spinning experience fun. The textures can go from smooth to bumpy in just a few twists! I have also added to this new update my Teeswater long locks and I will adding new colors in the next week. The staple of the locks ranges from 8 to 12 inches long. Some they are even 14 inches long. The wool is fine with beautiful luster and retains a wonderful lock formation after it has been washed. The locks have been hand selected, and they are great for tailspinning.

The Twelve Caesars Collection continues with yarns and fibres inspired by the Emperor Galba. Fret not if you’ve never heard of him, he only lasted for seven months in the job. The Twelve Caesars Collection is a monthly update of OOAK batches of yarn and fibre inspired by the biographies written by Suetonius. The update goes live on Friday 1st August at 7 p.m. UK time. Flat rate postage.

There’s a shop update over at The Cryptozoologist. There are five new yarns up for grabs, all on my unicorn sock base, a lovely, soft, warm blend of BFL and nylon.

Not only are the colourways new, but they launch two new themes that I will be using for inspiration in the coming weeks.

Firstly….ADVENTURE TIME!

How could anyone watch this TV show and not be entranced? I’m a huge fan of the surreal cartoon, and especially Lumpy Space Princess — she’s like totally my hero.

So, the first yarn up is Lumpy Space Princess. As per the lady herself, LSP is a blend of lots of different regal purples, topped off by gold. I’m so fond of this yarn, I’m having trouble saying goodbye to it!

Also up is Princess Bubblegum. How can you not love a princess who is fond of pink, and science! So, it’s only right that this yarn is a blend of tonal pinks, and a totally royal gold.

The second series I am working on is inspired by Mia Ikumi’s lovely manga series Tokyo Mew Mew. I’m such a huge fan of both the manga and the anime. I REALLY want to be a mew mew. So, again how could I not use it as inspiration? And the plus point? They are all gorgeous colour combinations!!

First up is Ichigo, a lovely blend of red, white and tonal pinks. It blends Ichigo the girl with the Mew Mew alterego and is purrfectly representative of one of my favourite cat girls.

Secondly, Mint. In the series, Mint is kinda mean and spoiled, but that girl has style! She wears my favourite colours of purple, turquoise and blue — and looks great doing it! I’ve been gripping this skein in my hand feverishly debating whether to sell or keep it. But, here it is — for sale!

Finally, it’s a bit of an oddball. From time to time I like to try out new dyeing techniques, blending and colour mixes. Ponyo is one of these. It’s a lovely summery, beachy mix of blue, orange and sand. Doesn’t it just make you want to hotfoot it to the nearest beach? If you want this skein, then snap it up as it’s a OOAK and will not be dyed again!

So, hopefully (health willing), there’ll be another update next week — and normal service with health, internet and dyeing will be resumed!

With the Spring show season over we are gearing up for the fall. Take a swim in our newest colorways just dripping with luscious color. Immerse your self in jaw dropping, heart pounding vibrancy. Take a walk on the wild side with our “Tuscany” or “Zuri.” Feeling more calm and relaxed? Sink into “Global” or “Granny Smith.” And for those in need of some grounding, try “Earth Mother.”

We know the weather is still quite warm, but now is the time to begin deciding what you will be working on this fall. Don’t spin? come check out the wild array of colors in our much loved “Mini Skein Sets.”

I’m delighted to announce The Orchard Collection. Four naturally dyed colours on a yarn spun from the wool of a single flock of Wensleydale sheep which grazes a Damson orchard on the Bedfordshire/Buckinghamshire border in England.

The yarn a is 100% Wensleydale lace weight and is worsted spun to maintain the gorgeous sheen of the longwool. There’s 100g and approximately 580m per skein. As well as the almost silk-looking sheen, there’s a subtle mohair-like halo, so the yarn will trap lots of air making it snuggly and warm. You can read more about the flock and owner Erika at www.sylvantiger.co.uk

Each of the four colours in the collection is named for an orchard fruit: Damson Delight, Blackcurrant Crush, Blueberry Blush and Greengage Glut.

As this is my first post to Indie Untangled I’ll tell you a bit more about Sylvan Tiger Yarn. I’m an independent hand dyer based in Yorkshire, England, creating luxury yarn and fibre using natural dyes. I use wool sourced from British suppliers and sheep, processed and spun in Britain.

My inspiration for colours and combinations often comes from my local landscapes of Yorkshire, the North York Moors, Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. I particularly enjoy exploiting the natural PH sensitivities of the natural dyes to create gentle variations in colour.

New autumn colorways have arrived that will knock your socks off! Just like all of the yarn available from Cedar Hill Farm Company, these autumnal goodies are hand painted and OOAK. Check out our super squishy Australian Merino, our certified organic Merino, pure wools, bamboo and silk blends, handspun, PDF knitting patterns, handmade stitch markers, and our 100% cotton handmade small project bags. We also have some stunning natural fibers, both carded and uncarded, in alpaca and llama that are perfect for any spinning appetite. So come on, stop by the Etsy shop! After all, you’ve gotta love the yarn you’re with!

I’ve had a number of special requests in the past week or two. I love it — customers are now telling me about their wishes. I figure, if one person would like it, there are probably others as well. And I’m honored to be asked to put together specials items!

The following items came about as requests from customers: Amish Quilt stitch marker set, Silver Steampunk knitter’s chatelaine, and Silver Steampunk stitch marker set.

Are you interested in a special set to honor your favorite nerdery or other interest? Let me know and we’ll see what we can come up with together….
