Amy’s Trinket Shop is getting excited for the upcoming holiday season. New to the shop are Halloween trinkets, Winter holiday trinkets, and newly created min trins which are a smaller version of the original sized trinket. Please visit my Etsy shop to see the full selection available for purchase. I will be updating regularly with new products so “favorite” my shop to stay in the loop. Stay safe and happy crafting, A
Those of us who LOVE Stephen West — and frankly, who DOESN’T??? — all wait in slightly frantic anticipation for his yearly Mystery Knit-A-Long, that KAL that mystifies and delights us every year! Well, this year he did NOT disappoint, and from what I understand, you’re going to need at least 54 stitch markers to finish that sucker! So to assist you with that, I have curated sets of 60 markers for you to complete the MKAL — 54 to use, and an extra six to invariably get lost/fall into the sofa cushions/get stuck into play-dough by you toddler (true story!).
All 60 markers will match and be in needles size US6/4mm, which should accommodate the needs of the pattern. The varieties available are:
JUST VANILLA, LIKE TERMINATOR 2 – Nice Bland Bright Silver wire with Crazy Killer Mercurial Futuristic Assassin Silver glass beads.
HE MEANT ‘STAY BLONDE,’ PONYBOY – Stay Gold wire with Nothing Gold Can Stay glass beads.
HIP TO BE SQUARE – Bright SuperTrouper Spotlight Silver wire in a square shape with Awesome ’80s! Neon glass beads.
Each set is handmade just for you! I am NOT affiliated with Stephen West in any way. I just love his stuff!
1st class: Knitting with Beads and Sequins: Why not?! Ever considered incorporating some beads or even sequins into a sweater? In this class we will explore ideas to make a unique sweater with your own twist! Participants will be taught how to work bead knitting and (if you like the idea) how to add sequins as well. Participants will receive a few charts with beading ideas (for circular yoke, for cabled fabric, cuffs, etc).
2nd class: Knitting the Petite Boxy! Class Details:
With a fitted yoke, fitted sleeves, some ease on the body, and a “kinda” cropped shape, the petite boxy is a sweater for everyone! In this class, we’ll break down and explore the steps to knit your new favorite sweater! Participants will receive a sweater pattern as a gift. The pattern will be helpful as a guide to follow the steps of the Top-down seamless circular yoke sweater.
Come to the #DFWFiberFest and learn an exciting new way to put beads on your knitting — on your cast-on! Make this gorgeous waterfall beaded edge on a shawlette. Once you know how to use this technique, you will want to use it on everything from scarves to shrugs! Jean Elizabeth will be there to guide you through this process step by step all the while telling you about knitting with beads and the many ways you can use beads in your knitting. You will complete part of the shawl and walk away with the skills to finish it and make many more.
You will bring your own yarn, wound in a ball ready to knit. Yarn (tencel hand-dyed by Teresa Ruch) can be purchased from Bead Biz, but you will need to make arrangements to have the yarn wound prior to class. A kit including beads (color choices available), pattern and tool will be supplied by the instructor.
