Lambtown Festival is just around the corner!

Do you like sheep? Do you like yarn and fiber? We’ve got it all at Lambtown Festival! This is the 37th year of the event and we’ve got a great lineup of fun! Come and see sheep shearing demos, sheepdog herding demos, the fleece & wool show, sheep to shawl competition, skeins & textiles competition, our hands-on crafting Wooly Adventures area, over 60 fabulous vendors, food and drink, and of course… sheep!

Bring your spinning wheel, a picnic blanket, and some friends and hang out with us on October 7 & 8 in Dixon, California, about halfway between the Bay Area and Sacramento. We’ve got a bus from San Francisco and Oakland on the 8th if you don’t want to drive! Workshops are also open, as are discounted full weekend tickets, and we’ve even got a few more outdoor vendor booths available for fiber or fiber-adjacent businesses. We’ve got a new colorway this week and it’s spectacular! Harvest Moon has all the colors of autumn in one beautiful hank. Such a beautiful fall palette that’s been building over the past few weeks. This week’s Harvest Moon is no exception. The rich oranges, teals and purples blend beautifully to provide the perfect fall colors. We like it paired with our deep purple Ríoga that makes those oranges; or warmed up with Mocha Or with Words of Wisdom — see how it picks up the dusty teal?

2023 Pittsburgh Creative Arts/Knit & Crochet Festival

Join us August 24-26, 2023 for the Pittsburgh Creative Arts/Knit & Crochet Festival held at the DoubleTree Hotel in Green Tree, PA. The festival is a three-day event with a vibrant marketplace and 70+ classes in many creative disciplines: knit, crochet, sewing/quilting, weaving and much more. There is a Community room where attendees can make soap sacks to be donated within the Pittsburgh community, work on a blanket for the Linus Project and learn to knit or crochet for free from volunteers from the Bethany Community Ministries. Stay around on Friday night, when owner/organizer, Laura hosts several rounds of Fiber Bingo — also lots of fun! Online class registration and advance admission tickets sales is happening now. Wervel Kits and Yarn Pre-Orders

We are hugely proud to have our yarn featured in Aimee Gille’s latest book, Neons and Neutrals. We have kits for the gorgeous pattern, Wervel, which features our yarn. We worked very closely with the designer, Maaike van Geijn to come up with a gorgeous palette for the kits. There are kits for the yoke only, allowing you to used stash yarn for the body as well as sweater kits, which include yarn for the body as well.

Preorders are currently open. We have 30 bases available, ranging from fingering to worsted.

We have had a full restock of Chiaogoo needles and have added shorties to our range, available as 9″ fixed needles and sets. They are great for sleeves, socks or any other small-circumference circular knitting.

We also had a full restock of Muud bags. The ever-popular Saturn XL is back along with others, and we’ve added a new style.

Making Memories, a gorgeous book of children’s knitting patterns is now available to preorder. Our yarn is featured on two patterns and we are happy to advise on yardage, should you wish to order yarn with it.

It’s a new year, and we have so many new things happening this year! After a fabulous 2022, we are already gearing up to make 2023 even better! We have expanded our yarn bases and now offer 15 different yarn bases across four different yarn weights — with several more to come in the upcoming months! Looking for sock yarn, DK, worsted or bulky, we have your covered!

Much of last year was spent doing custom orders, and this year is no exception! Custom orders are some of our absolute favorite things to do, and nothing makes us happier or gives us more of a challenge than a customer asking us to pull off something spectacular! When you visit our shop, if you don’t see what you’re looking for, don’t hesitate to reach out and send us a message! We are always willing to customize, create and collaborate with you!

Along with new bases, we have a huge variety of new colorways. From shawl sets to single solid skeins, fiber braids in multiple breeds of wool, and knitting notions/bags, we have something for everyone! Patterns are going to be posted soon as well, and we just opened up signups for our extra awesome 2023 advent calendar! Choose from the traditional December Advent, or join us on a year-long choose your own adventure!
