We have a restock of the gorgeously dramatic Splitsville as well as Crush It in the shop. Such amazing color! Splitsville is perfect for socks where the dye technique appears as microstripes. We love Crush It for it’s bright and warm pop of color. Also in the shop is our brand new colorway Parade, a bold bronze with multi-faceted speckles.

We’ve also got a new pin in the Pin Shop: the Color Wheel Spinner! Check it out here.

Are you ready for a mystery knit-along? We’ve put together six new yarn sets for the Line Dance MKAL, designed and hosted by Lisa K Ross (Paper Daisy Creations).

Each set includes five 30g mini-skeins of our popular Messa di Voce Superwash Merino yarn. This fingering-weight yarn is hand dyed with slight variations in colour that give a subtle texture and depth to your knitting while not distracting from the pattern.

We recommend ordering by February 21st to ensure your yarn arrives in time for the start of the MKAL on March 6th.

At Gothfarm Yarn, we’re all about embracing the beauty of undyed, naturally-colored yarns. At the same time, we love the array of colors that only indie dyers can achieve. That’s why I’m excited to share a new collaboration with Savvy Skeins that blends the best of both worlds!

Preorders opened last weekend for the Q 4000 knit sock kit. The kit comes in three contrasting color options: orange, yellow and green. The main color is a new yarn from us called Oxide, which is available only in this kit. The color comes from blending Jacob sheep wool with cinnamon red alpaca fleece. The kit pattern is the 80s Retro sock design by Belén Fernández, which is excellent for new sock knitters and available in both English and Spanish. The finished sock is thick and warm, great for wearing around the house, in thick boots, or open-backed shoes.

We have fewer than 50 kits left! Orders close March 1, 2024, and will ship later that month.

The inspiration – and name – for this kit came from what might sound like an unconventional place: a sea-faring oil rig called the Q 4000.

I spent a week aboard the rig while reporting a story about scientific research happening on it last year. Every inch of it was painted in bright, super-saturated colors – except for the corrosion and rust that ebbed away at the edges or streaked down panels. The colors in the kits are directly inspired by this intense setting, where sun and sea make are an unyielding presence that greets and influences whatever humans build.

Happy February from ECY Shedquarters! Thank you so much for all the sale orders through January. Some of the older yarn can now be found in the Reduced to Clear section of the website. Now that the sale is over we are looking forward to this year. We are working through a couple of big wholesale orders which is super exciting, but we are also making progress with yarn updates. Our first update of 2024 has gone live and consists of mini skeins in Brimham High Twist and Rosedale 4ply.

Brimham High Twist is Superwash extrafine Merino with nylon, two-ply, high-twist yarn in a fingering weight. Rosedale 4ply is Superwash extrafine Merino, nylon and gold Stellina. Both are ideal sock yarns which can be paired with a full skein of any of our other sock yarns to give contrast details for toes, heels and cuffs. They would also be great for fingerless mitts or any other project needing smaller quantities of yarns.

With lots of mini skeins available we have also added our mini skein lucky dip selections back to the website. You can choose five, 10, 12 or 24 mini skeins and we will put a set together for you. If you choose 12 or 24 minis we can even gift wrap them for you for a small extra fee so that they are a total surprise, just select the WITH Gift Wrapping option from the drop down menu.

A little note about yarn packs: our yarn packs are made up of yarn from stock that’s listed as individual batches, and when orders are placed the website pulls yarn that’s in yarn packs from the stock we’ve added. However, if you buy multiple yarn packs in an order, or a yarn pack plus individual skeins in one order it can oversell them which means we would need to refund them or ask you to choose something else. It’s a frustrating glitch that we’ve never been able to fix. If you are buying ONLY a yarn pack it will be correct or if you are buying ONLY individual skeins it will be correct. It’s the combo of both that confuses it. If you aren’t sure how much stock there is please check the individual yarn batch listing to see the number of skeins in stock.

We will be at Unravel at Farnham Maltings on Friday 23rd – Sunday 25th February. It is the first of many shows this year so if you can come along to support us it would be great to see you! Tickets and more information about the even can be found here.

We are making good progress with our Oakworth 4ply and Oakworth DK updates which will be next to go live. Shortly after we will have Nateby 4ply, Bowland Aran and Keld Fingering in the schedule. We are working hard behind the scenes and will let you know when these yarns are ready!

Y’all have “moved” A LOT of yarn!! Because of that, I’ve found a few more things to add to the Moving Sale and to the Oopsie skeins. The Oopsie additions include some single skeins that didn’t have a perfect mate, some small mini sets, and some new full skein sets.

I am in the process of dyeing up the fiber I have in stock and will begin posting that for sale next week! Follow me on Instagram for notifications on those updates.

We are also VERY close to adding international shipping. The more makers we can include the better!

Thank you for being so supportive of our small business! It means so much!

The February colorway of the Georgia O’Keeffe Yarn Club is now open for skein-only preorders.

Orders will consist of the featured colorway in the base of your choice and a fact card about the artwork. This month, I am featuring an early watercolor called “Sunset” that has various pinks with pops of yellow and white.

Orders cut off on February 20th, allowing time for me to dye yarn and get it shipped out between the 28th and the 2nd.

If you would like to get packages every month, with fun goodies, you may also subscribe at my website.
