“You will be haunted,” resumed the Ghost, “by Three Spirits.” —A Christmas Carol

I cannot remember the first time I heard Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, but I do remember being utterly enchanted by the chilling tale. It has inspired more retellings, through stage and screen, than you can almost count, and I couldn’t help myself in doing my own spin on the story in fiber and dye. I have created three colorways in honor of the spirits that haunted Ebenezer Scrooge that Christmas Eve.

The first of my colorways is “Ghost of Christmas Past”, a beautiful golden yellow. I tried to capture the warm glow of a candle. “Ghost of Christmas Present” is a rich pine green, in remembrance of the second spirit’s velvet robes. And last but not least, “Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come” is a dark blood red. This one is meant to be kind of spooky in honor of the faceless ghost. Each colorway is semisolid with light speckles. I hope you enjoy my three ghostly yarns!

They are available in two bases: Sock (Superwash Merino/nylon) and Twist (Superwash Merino/Cashmere/nylon). The colorways are sold individually or as a set. If you decide on getting all three look out for a tiny holiday surprise in your package. They are perfect for a Christmas tri-color shawl!

Merry Christmas and Happy Making! God bless us everyone!

Lambstrings Yarn is doing a holiday sock club! Yup yup yup! I’m so excited to bring you not one, but TWO holiday inspired sock sets to choose from, Krampus and Saint Nick!

If you know me and my color style, you know these won’t be your typical traditional holiday colorways. They will be unique and moody as always! These will be mystery sets, only to be revealed upon they’re arrival to you (photo inspiration provided above).

Each set will come with one full skein of Tralala Sock (75/25 SW Merino, nylon, 463 yds) and two Tralala Sock mini skeins (92 yds) in contrasting heel/toe/cuff colorways.

You can find our sock club at LambstringsYarn.com at the top of the page under menu, shop by, Holiday Sock Club. They will be listed separately as “Krampus” and “Saint Nick,” so they will need to be added to your cart as such.

Pre-orders will open on Saturday, Nov. 10th at 10 a.m. ET and close Friday, Nov. 23rd at midnight ET. All orders will ship Dec. 1st-3rd.

I hope you can make it!

In celebration of my two new pattern releases, A Foxy Frolic and Snowflake Man, I am having an exclusive Indie Untangled promotion. Please use code – SnowyFrolic in my Ravelry shop and receive an automatic $2 off each pattern from November 9-19.

A Foxy Frolic is an adorable circular yoke adorned with foxy faces. Snowflake Man is a bold circular yoked sweater more conducively sized for the male shape. Both designs are worked from the top down and in the round and in a variety of sizes. Enjoy!

Hi everyone! Hope you are all having an awesome fall season. I know I am loving the chance to wear all of my hand knits. I have some really great sweater yarn, it is so soft and cozy, and I have been knitting a ton of sweaters lately.

I updated my shop this week and there are lots of yarns and colors to choose from. Lots of sweaters quantities available on my Clover fingering weight and my Worsted Merino bases. The Clover base is 85% SW Merino and 15% nylon and is so soft and lovely. The worsted weight is 100% SW merino and again, it is super soft and cozy. I also have some great MCN yarn available in a variety of colorways.

There’s lots of fall- and winter-inspired colors in this update. I have really been wanting to use tonals lately so I have some nice red, green, blue, brown and plum tonals that would be great for any project.

Please check it out and thank you so much for supporting my shop. It really has been a dream of mine for some time now and I am so happy to be finally starting this new chapter in my life.

As winter ascends and the world outside my window shifts towards a monochrome field, I’m compelled to create from the boldest, most saturated colors in my mental paint box. One of the many wonderful aspects of having married into an Indian family many years ago is my prized collection of silk saris, not to mention decades’ worth of photos of weddings, graduation parties, baby showers and other joyous gatherings.

I find myself turning to these often these days as a source of inspiration and ideas. These new fall colorways are all executed on Harbour Singles fingering to best capture the silken fabric sheen. I’m happy to take custom orders for singles, lace and DK weights as well.

Shown together here are Turmeric, Sirocco and Lucia, as well as my current favorite — Mysore Silk.

I had so much fun with my first holiday-themed sock set last year, I decided to do it again this year! And I am making a few changes this year. Mostly in the “more choices” category.

This year we’ll have the following options:

• Order the “classic set” – A full skein of the main color and a coordinating mini in 1 of 3 choices.

• Order the “deluxe set” – A full skein and 3 minis – one of each color.

• Order the “skein only” – One skein of the main color and no mini.

• Order the “minis only” – A 5 mini skein set with the main color, three minis and an extra color.

The theme this year is Christmas Sweets and the main color is Creme de Menthe on Sojourn Sock. It’s a very subtle microstripe in a yummy mint color. The mini colors are Cranberry Creme (pink), Red Velvet (red), and Scotch Pine (green).

The full mini skein set will include Creme de Menthe, Red Velvet, Cranberry Creme, Scotch Pine and Tinsel (silvery gray) – each on a 20g skein of Sojourn Sock.

I’ll be taking the pre-orders from now through Thanksgiving weekend (November 25) with the orders shipping out on Wednesday, December 5. That’ll give everybody plenty of time for a holiday cast on!

There are a limited number of sets available, so visit our website to order now!

Hello, dyers! We’re gearing up for another production run of SkeinMinders and SkeinTwisters! The price on SkeinTwisters is discounted for a limited time, through Nov. 11, and we’re extending the discount period for SkeinMinders thru Nov. 11 as well with coupon code SMDISC.

Haven’t heard of the SkeinMinder or SkeinTwister? They’re tools we build just for indie dyers, to make slinging yarn a little easier. The SkeinMinder adds automation to your motorized yarn winder – just set the rotation count, press the big red button, and forget about it! It’ll automatically stop when it gets to the proper count. It’ll also detect yarn jams and pause your winder, and there’s a mode that’ll shut your winder off automatically when re-skeining and the yarn runs out. If you’re winding skeins yourself, this tool will increase your productivity and decrease the amount of time you spend fixing winding errors.

The SkeinTwister is a motorized hook that helps you twist skeins into their final put-up. It has already helped a couple hundred dyers eliminate repetitive motions, and twist skeins faster and more consistently. Set it to the number of seconds of twist time you need, tap the foot pedal once, and it’ll produce the same amount of twist each time. So no matter who is doing the twisting, your skeins will look perfect! Or if you prefer, you can use it in “press and hold” mode, just hold the foot pedal down for as long as you need and release it to stop twisting.

Deliveries for SkeinMinders will start in late December, SkeinTwisters in late January. Order yours now to save a little money and reserve your place in the delivery queue!
