The first yarn club for Round Table Yarns was a success, and I’m currently planning the next one. In the meantime, I’m going to offer a monthly yarn club. What does this mean?

Even though I’m calling it a club, it’s not something you need to commit to over a long period of time. You can participate on a month-to-month basis depending on whether or not you like that month’s color option.

Here’s how it will work. At the start of each month, I’ll post the color for that month’s club offering. If you like the color, you can order it on any of the bases I carry in as many skeins as you would like. (Note: I dye in lots of 4 skeins, so if you want more than 4 skeins of a base, they will be different dye lots.)

The club will be open for a week. At the end of the week, I’ll order the yarn and start dyeing. I’ll send shipments out as they are ready, but all shipments should go out by the end of that month. (The exception will be this first month because we’re getting started a little later in the month, so depending on the number of participants, some yarn may go out the first week of August.)

The colors will be limited edition colors, available only during that month’s club.

The monthly club colorway for July 2016 is called Ynys Avallach (you’ll get the story behind the name along with the yarn) and is mostly purple with hints of pink and blue.

Natures Dyes! New ColorPurl Finnegan Natural dyes in tones of Pink, Blue, Yellow and Green using Indigo, Cochineal and Onion are now available. Sparkly Mini Skein kits “Sunset” and “Coffee Break” also boast Indigo, Logwood, Cochineal and Onion. Pair these naturals with some of the brights or use them alone for summer knitting.

“Dangling Conversation” is pictured as a suggested pattern to pair with one of the Mini Skein Kits. It would work beautifully with one skein of the Finnegan as well.

It seems like there’s a new KAL every minute and the sock craze is in full swing now that summer has officially arrived, so why not join one and work up something stunning in one of the new summer colorways from Cedar Hill Farm Company? This week’s shop update includes new colorways of Journey, Traveler, and Gypsy. All of these Merino yarns are squishy, hand-painted fingering-weight yarns that are perfect for lightweight summer projects, especially your favorite summer project and mine: socks!

New colorways of Traveler include: Newsprint, Hot Chocolate, and Pink Sunglasses. Each one is dyed in a unique gradient fashion that gives you sock knitters a gradient striping pattern.

New colorways of Journey include: Ellis Island, Tokyo, and a livelier lot of La Rue de Paris. I’m so in love with these three new colorways that it’s taking all of my will power to share them!

Finally, new colorways of Gypsy include: Cupcake, Gaugin, and Abstract Butterfly. These Australian Merino (2-ply) speckled yarns work up perfectly for socks, lace scarves, and baby items.
