I’m pleased to announce the launch of my Sylvan Scarf Pattern. It’s the perfect thing to keep you warm on a walk in the woods, wide enough to provide plenty of material to snuggle into and long enough to wrap all the way round. The central lace panel is reminiscent of fully grown pine trees, whilst the edging and borders feature the saplings of the forest floor.

The Scarf is knitted with just one skein of my newly-launched yarn base Tethera 4ply. The sample is knitted in the Sitka colourway. Tethera 4ply is a smooth 4-ply yarn, spun from 100% British BFL wool, perfect for hats, gloves and socks. There are 14 semi-solid colours available now at my Etsy store.

This is a sideways shawl that was inspired by Sara, a dear friend of Tami Dyman of Eternity Ranch. Sara is an inspirational example of beauty, grace, and forgiveness for those who turned her world upside down. The yarn colors Tami chose to honor Sara with were inspired by the breathing, majestic Western Montana Mountains where Sara lives and found the power to forgive. The collaboration of yarn meets design is a delicate, dense pattern that expresses Sara’s strength as well as her femininity, giving the feel of the serene mountains where Sara finds peace.. To read more about Sara’s inspirational story, please visit rubyridgetofreedom.com.

I am the dyer of the custom Colorway, Sara’s Story. It is a colorblock of Teal, Tan, and Grey. It shows off the stitch design beautifully.

Kits are available now until October 20th for pre order. If you are on Ravelry please sign in to either Eternity Ranch or Knitbybitdesigns, so we can get the pattern to you. If you are not on Ravelry, you can still order the yarn and pattern we will just send you the pattern via email.

The kit is up in Eternity Ranch Knits on Etsy.

You can join with any yarn if you can’t or do not want the kit yarn. Any Eternity Ranch yarn will qualify you for prizes on both boards, non- ER Yarns will still qualify you in Knit-By-Bit-Designs Group.

Thank you
Hope to see you there!!!

Happy fall y’all!

I love Autumn. I love everything about it. Cool, brisk mornings, the myriad of colors crunching under your feet, apples and pumpkin treats, and especially it means wool season! This month I have updated the store with lots of Autumn colors in a variety of bases to get in the mood. There’s tons of Simplicity, our superwash singles yarn, with a countless variety of combinations for all the lovely stripey shawls.

I also have introduced our Color of the Month for October in not one, but three different colors! The Color of the Month is a limited edition colorway that is only available to pre-order for a little bit before it get tucked away into the vault forever. All are available on a variety of bases of both yarn and fiber. Don’t miss your chance to get Cauldron, Toothbreaker and Frosted Leaves before the 15th of the month!

We’ve got gradient kits over at Three Fates Yarns. I’ve taken my most popular colorways and turned them into gradient kits of 2.5 skeins/kit. The yarn is Terra Sock, a high-twist 3ply blend of Merino and nylon yarn. It’s wonderfully bouncy and durable. The put-up size is large which makes it very flexible. Other than making baby sweaters for twins, you can easily weave or crochet with this amount of yarn. It also makes wonderful shawls and cowls. Add a contrasting neutral like woodsmoke and you’ll have the perfect sweater.

Lakes Yarn will be having an update today, September 26th at 4 p.m. PST. The update will include two brand new bases — both silk blends, but far different from each other. The first is a worsted weight blend of 60% Merino and 40% silk that knits up into lovely and soft accessories. The second is a fingering weight blend of 60% superwash Merino, 20% yak and 20% silk. The natural brown color of the yak and the shine of silk combine to produce striking colors when overdyed.

There are also lots of old favorites, including several sweater lots of Hayden DK and Organic Merino Sport. This will be my largest update so far, so I hope to see you there!

Just released is LACE 2, the final volume of my The Wild West: Patterns Inspired by the Flora, Fauna, Geology & History of Arizona e-book collection. Previous volumes include LACE 1, CABLES, STRANDED, and TEXTURED.

The weather is cooling and your needles are calling to you … It’s September and in 14 short weeks it will be Christmas morning: 14 weeks may seem like a long time, but remember last year, when you were rushing to finish those holiday gifts? Remember last year when you said “It’s only September. I have plenty of time!”?

To help you keep this year’s resolution to not be that procrastinating kind of knitter or crocheter again this year, the one who’s too stressed to enjoy the season because she’s running out of time to make her gifts, there are lovely new goodies in the shop (and a weekend sale for our newsletter subscribers!). Alpaca DK and lace weight alpaca, DK and worsted weight pure wool, fingering weight superwash wool, and plenty of fit-in-your-purse 8 x 10 hand sewn and fully lined project bags to hold your holiday knitting and notions. We have also begun carrying Knitter’s Pride and ChiaoGoo needles in the Cedar Hill Farm Company Etsy shop, making Cedar Hill Farm Company a one-stop shopping experience for that new project you’re itching to start.

And speaking of new projects… Have you checked out the new Whitby Place Hat & Cowl pattern available from Ravelry, Etsy, and Craftsy?
