This spring month we are taking inspiration from our neighborhood walks and watching all the flowers bloom. Our pastel set is the featured mini skein set with aqua, pink, lilac, peach, ice blue and mint. I couldn’t wait to try them as stripes in Brie Christine’s fun Quartet Socks pattern. Using white for contrast in the color work made the colors really pop. Pulling the pink and lilac out of the bunch, I had to dye up a sock set called Mayflower, added sprinkles and contrasted it with the light and darker plums for heels and cuff. Peach also pulls at my heart so I sprinkled that with darker peach, spring green and a light touch of aqua for the second sock set named Wildflowers. It reminds me of a painting and every stitch is so fun to knit. The darker peach and spring green as contrasts are so perfect with it. With a new grandbaby in the family, I also couldn’t wait to use the colors together in a baby hat. These are all so much fun to play with! I hope you grab some and enjoy them as well!

Whew!! does anybody else feel like this year is racing by at an incredible pace? I don’t know about you, but I can hardly believe that it is May already and we are rapidly making our way towards summer. Kids will be out soon from school and the weather is getting nicer but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t time to start planning those fall and holiday projects! We have had so many changes and updates this year. It is hard to keep track of them all, but I will try to give you a brief highlight overview!

Our 2023 Advent is released and features themes from our childhood, which mainly means that it is a collection that has been designed off of a number of our favorite games from our childhoods over several decades! This may be one of my absolute favorite advent, I have to admit. Space is limited, but right now we have a good amount available.

We have expanded our yarn bases and now carry over 15 different bases across five different yarn weights and have added fiber breeds across multiple different breeds. Expanding our yarn base offerings has been a goal of mine for a while and I am excited to share that not only have we expanded, but we will be adding at least three additional bases over the next few months.

We have been working on a lot of custom orders, so if you are the type of person that likes to design your own yarn or have a designer work with you to create some thing truly unique to you, you have found the right place to do that! Our shop specializes in custom orders, and we have created many different color combinations for extremely special customer projects! We absolutely love to work with you to come up with something that makes your projects extra special!

We’ve added tons of new colorways, and now also have a huge line of tonals that can be ordered across all our bases!

There’s so much more we could share, but we will leave you to explore!

Hi – I’m Katie, the dyer here at Yarn Love, and I’m on a mission to add more joy to your crafting life!

Every skein here at Yarn Love is dyed by hand and beautifully packaged. My luxury yarns and gorgeous colors make every stitch a delight. The Yarn Love studio is located just outside Des Moines, Iowa, and I’ve been dyeing yarn for the past 17 years.

If you’re looking for heirloom-quality yarn in colors that delight the senses, check out my freshly-dyed sock sets. Sock sets have the perfect amount of yarn for knitting an adult-sized pair of socks. Each one contains multiple colors — perfect for knitting up colorwork or a pair of socks with contrast toes and heels.

I also have a monthly sock club. If you want the newest colors shipped directly to your doorstep — no shopping required — this is a fantastic option. I rotate the yarn and color every month, so it’s a perfect way to try new sock yarns in my latest colors.

~ Katie

Hey friends!

Every month from the 1st to the 15th I offer my entire established catalog of repeatable colorways (300+ of them!) dyed to order on a specific fiber base. This month’s fiber base is delicious Targhee/bamboo/silk and if you haven’t already worked with this combo, it’s well worth trying.

I typically offer a 10% discount on any DTO orders placed during the 1st week of the month but with the code INDIEUNTANGLED you can get that same discount now until Dyed to Order closes on the 15th.

DTO ships two months after purchase and this makes for an excellent happy mail day for future you.

The listings: There are nine of them, include a single photo of every colorway braided in a flat-lay style and you’re welcome to mix and match colorways — there are quite a few semisolids that coordinate with a variety of variegated beauties.

Let me know if you’ve got any questions and I can’t wait to see which colorways catch your eye!

On the heels of the Coronation of Charles III, we were gifted the latest installment of the Bridgerton series, Queen Charlotte. If you haven’t already devoured this new prequel of our beloved Bridgerton, head over to Netflix, settle in with your project and prepare to be delighted! And of course, we’ve got a special two-month Queen Charlotte sampling of yarn and goodies to celebrate the arrival of her majesty.

You’ll want to tune in to our YouTube channel for the LIVE! Saturday morning at 9:30AM Eastern time as we welcome back two of our most beloved colorways, You’re Blushing and Dole Whip.

So, let’s talk about colors, because Carolyn’s created for us a beautiful spring palette and when someone suggested that Dole Whip would be the perfect accent to You Are My Sunshine, we had to agree. Welcome back Dole Whip! For those of you who want to go towards the pink side, You’re Blushing is just the thing. A flattering tone for all with the most delicate of speckles, You’re Blushing could be the perfect shade for your Summer Sweater.

The Super Summer Sweater MAL is underway! It’s not too late to cast on one of our suggested patterns or your own favorite project to join the fun. We’ve created two teams: Team Carolyn is making the Anker Summer Shirt sweater (or you can join by using DK yarn) and Team Michelle is making the Beautifully Basic Tee (or you can join by using fingering-weight yarn). Be sure to share your project pics in our Yarny Ewes Facebook group because we’ll be giving away some prizes along the way to those using Olive & Two Ewe yarns. Check out the Team Carolyn and Team Michelle threads in the Yarny Ewes which are full of fun and a little bit of friendly competition.

Yarn Lounge, the premier indie dyer, crafting hangout, shopping experience is back, and tickets are flying off the shelves! We’re looking forward to an epic #yarnparty on June 10th at Brewlando in Orlando, Florida. Yarn Lounge is always a blast, so get your tickets now and make your plans because you won’t want to miss out on this fiber extravaganza!

Last but not least, we’re going live on our YouTube channel Saturday morning at 9:30AM Eastern time with all the fun and details. It’s always a delightful adventure, so grab your coffee or tea, your yarn, and let’s have a great time together!

Fiber friends are the best friends! Thanks for being a part of our yarn community, and we’ll be back next week for more updates and adventures!

Do you know what happens to all of those fabric samples in designer showrooms? They’re often thrown away at the end of the season. I managed to find a collection of beautiful fabrics on their way to the landfill and now they’re becoming the most beautiful project bags. Combined with a waxed canvas base so that you don’t have to worry about setting it down in your favorite coffee shop, lots of pockets, and other handy features, they’re just waiting to hold your next WIP. These are available right now. Join the email list on my website to have early access to the newest batch, coming soon. Each is one of a kind as once the sample is used, it’s gone. If you see one you love, don’t wait!

The Rochester Lilac Festival is a 125-year-old tradition that celebrates the city’s beautiful lilacs and expansive gardens. The festival takes place every May in Highland Park, designed by famed landscape architect Frederick Law Olmstead, and home to one of the largest lilac groves in the world. As a lifelong Rochesterian, I have attended this 10-day festival for as long as I can remember so it seemed necessary to create a collection of color inspired by this treasured event.

The collection features five vibrantly speckled colorways in variegated floral shades of pink, purple, magenta, and green that are intentionally designed to fade together. The colors are inspired by the beautiful lilacs that bloom in Rochester every spring as well as the celebrated landmarks all around the festival site.

The collection will be available this Friday, May 12, so pop some kettle corn and cake up your next project with the Rochester Lilac Festival color collection.

It’s finally here! The 2023 Queerdo Collection!
The Undercover Otter / Wee Yarn Company crossover no one asked for, but you’re getting anyway. ????

Undercover Otter and The Wee Yarn Company have joined forces for the 2023 Pride Collection and we’ve created six exclusive colorways in support of the LGBTQIA+ community, available on two delicious yarn bases.

This collaboration aims to spread love, acceptance, and awareness for the community while also giving back. For every skein sold (at a retail price of €25,- incl. VAT), we are donating €2,50 to LGBT+ Asylum Support. A Dutch non-governmental organization (NGO) founded in 2015 that provides guidance and support to LGBT+ asylum seekers in the Netherlands.

Ross and I have been having a blast making vibrant colorways that celebrate Queer Joy and if I may say so myself, we’ve succeeded in creating stunning colorways that represent the vibrancy and diversity of the LGBTQIA+ community. Each skein of yarn will be carefully dyed by hand, creating unique and one-of-a-kind color variations that are sure to inspire creativity and spark joy in every crafter who uses them.

But this collaboration means so much more than just creating beautiful yarn. It’s about standing in solidarity with the LGBTQIA+ community and using our platform to support and uplift their voices. As solo-preneurs, we firmly believe in the importance of human rights and inclusivity, and we are committed to doing our part to create a more accepting and loving world.

We also have a little gift for everyone who orders four skeins (or more) from this collection in the shape of an amazing shawl pattern designed by @pufidoknits using our Queerdo Collection colorways. Yiğitcan is a knitwear designer based in Istanbul and currently pursuing their masters degree in Textile and Design. We’ve had some sneak previews of the design and I can tell you it’s going to be amazing!

So, whether you’re an avid knitter or just looking for a way to show your support for the LGBTQIA+ community, we invite you to join us in this exciting collaboration. By purchasing one of our exclusive hand-dyed yarn colorways, you can make a difference in the lives of those who need it most. Let’s spread love, acceptance, and inclusivity one skein at a time!

Hey Friends, I just added these lovelies to the shop on one of my favorite fiber bases! Gelato, Apple Picking, Loch Lomond, Bandana, Beach House and Arctic Violets — there’s something there for any color enthusiast and as always they’re on fluffy and well-handled combed top, perfect for spinning as-is or turning into your preferred fiber prep style. I dye in a mirrored style that makes for easy fractal planning and as always, sell in 4 oz increments. I can’t wait to see which one(s) catch your eye!

Hello again!

I’ve got some exciting new things to share, including my favourite new yarn set! Worlds Beyond is inspired by the fantastic TTRPG podcast Worlds Beyond Number, with fantastic storytelling and amazing soundscapes. This yarn though! Bright with dark, swirling colours, splashes and speckles. This set has it all. Made up of the colourways Stars Abound, Stories Untold and Norn.

Stars Abound is the first in this set. It’s a very variegated colourway with splashes of teal and navy with oranges, golds and red splashes and speckles interspersed with white. Stories Untold is the next in the set combining two darker orange speckle sections alternating with navy and teal. Finally, there’s Norn, with its darker blues and teals rounding off the set.

It’s also time for the next installment of our project bag club, with an exclusively-designed fabric made into a beautiful bag by Sew Yarnilicious and exclusive yarn all themed around the Shadow and Bone TV series. It’s available in 50g or 100g skeins on a range of our bases. So what are you packing in your project bag to cross the fold?
