Hello from ECY Shedquarters! Today is a yarn pack news extravaganza, but before I get into that I have important information about holidays during May. Here in England we have three (yes THREE) public holidays in May. This means we will be closed on Monday 1st May, Monday 8th May and Monday 29th May and so we will not be processing orders or answering emails on these days, plus Royal Mail will have delays during this time. In addition to this we will also be closed on Friday 19th and Monday 22nd May. Please take this into consideration when ordering in May as it may take longer than normal for you to receive your orders.

We know it can be dauting choosing colour combinations and so we like to help you out with our suggestions. Yarn packs are also cheaper than buying the individual yarns separately. With so much choice available in the recent mini skein update we have put together a number of mini skein bundles. There are sets of three, four, five and seven minis so check those out if you have projects needing those quantities. We also still have Rainbow sets and sparkly Fade Sets available. There is a mini skein collection on the homepage of the website which also includes a mini skein lucky dip listing with options for five, ten, twelve and twenty four minis!

As promised we have been adding more Milburn 4ply options for the Kismet yarn packs to the website, you can find a link to this collection in the main Yarn menu. There are more to come but with all the sizing options they take a little while to set up. Oakworth 4ply packs for this design have been slightly delayed and will now be released next week. Kismet by Rachel Illsley of Unwind Knitwear is a stunning colourwork design featuring small repeats of pattern to give a striking finish. The sweater uses four colours, three colours in a vague fade with the final colour as a contrasting pop. The pattern is available on Payhip. Our yarn packs have size options that correspond with the sizing in the pattern from XS to 5XL to 83 to 157cm / 33.25 to 62.75 inches, with recommended positive ease of 7.5 to 25cm / 3 to 10 inches at the chest circumference.

Janie Crow’s Magic Circles scarf has had a revamp to account for the discontinued Autumn Fields, this has been replaced in the pattern with Dusk and we have added this as a new choice on our website. Jane has very kindly allowed us to use her images of the new sample and you can see those below. You can choose between buying the Yarn Pack Only if you already have the pattern, or the Yarn Pack & Pattern if you don’t. We now have SIX palette options on the website: the new Dusk palette, Claire’s Autumn Woodland palette, the original palette with either Black Tulip or Compost in place of Autumn Fields and our Version Two which has Black Tulip and Rain or Compost and Natural in place of Autumn Fields and Althaea. Find all Magic Circles listings through the link in the main Yarn menu.

While we are talking about Janie Crow, you may have seen her Earth Day post on Instagram which featured a granny square inspired by a beautiful landscape, the image of the granny square has been used with Jane’s permission. The yarns used in that square were Milburn DK in Thyme, Althaea, Dusk, Compost, Natural and Black Tulip. They work so well together that we obviously had to create yarn packs for the combination. You can choose from MIlburn DK or Milburn 4ply and also between 300g (one ball of each colour) or 600g (two balls of each colour). Find these on the website HERE.

I am photographing this yarn today (Thursday) and will get it live on the website as soon as possible. Pendle Sport is our only sportweight yarn and is 100% Superwash extrafine Merino yarn. If you have used any of our Pendle yarns before you will know how soft and bouncy this yarn is. Our testers did a great job with their products and let us know that it is ideal for both garments and accessories. It has great stitch definition making it ideal for cables and also has lovely drape. We will be releasing a blog post with more information about this yarn in the next week or so. When the yarn goes live it will be on the home page of the website and through the Yarn menu.

Hey friend!

Last week, I shared a tip about how I use an extra Melody Clip on my row counter to help me keep track of those times where I need to increase (or decrease) every 6 rows.

But right after, I had several emails from very confused friends asking, “OK Dawn, what exactly is a Melody Clip, because I searched on your website and couldn’t find it!”

So, I thought I’d create a post to explain. (Because if there’s one confused friend, I know there are more who weren’t brave enough to ask!).

Almost all of the stitch markers on our website come in two different styles.

-Infinity Ring
-Melody Ring

Our Infinity Ring stitch markers are closed loop style markers. They are my absolute FAVORITE stitch markers to have on my needles. The unique teardrop shape lets them hug close to your needles, but gives a nice little bit of wiggle room to stick your needle tip in. They glide effortlessly from needle to needle. It comes in both simple bead styles and ones with dangly charms.

Our Melody Ring stitch markers are removable stitch markers. They work for both knitting and crochet. Slide them on your needles, OR clip them on a stitch. Nothing to open and close — they’re a pressure clip, so you can just “pop” them on and off of a stitch one handed. They’re our most versatile stitch marker!

And the best thing about our Melody markers? They clip right on your chain row counter so you can keep track of multiple pattern elements at once!

Make sense?

I love both styles and keep some of each in my knitting bag at all times (you never know what you’re gonna need ????).

Do you love knitting? Do you love super soft t-shirts? Then you’ll love the this tee shirt club!
You will be able to select sizes up to 3X.

I found the most amazing eco-friendly screen printer who prints it all the old fashioned way, by hand! It’s a one-person shop, so when you are buying you are supporting two women owned small businesses.

Here are the shirt fabric details: Trust me, I love the comfy light weight cotton during the Florida summers! This unisex essential fits like a well-loved favorite, featuring a crew neck, short sleeves and designed with superior combed and ring-spun cotton.

Starting May 1st, we will open orders for next month’s shirt! Join the waitlist to secure yourself a spot!

Last May, attendees of Maryland Sheep & Wool had the opportunity to attend an indie pop-up organized by Mary, the dyer behind 29 Bridges Studio and Valerie of Knitting Fairy Godmother. This year, Yarncentrick is popping up again, on Friday, May 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at a new venue in Fredrick, Maryland. This one-day event will feature more than 30 indie dyers, fiber artists, and small creative businesses in a relaxed, intimate setting. The event is indoors, fully accessible with plenty of paved parking, and tickets are timed to avoid overcrowding. Here’s a peek at some of the vendors. Get your ticket and find the full vendor list at yarncentrick.com.

I hope this post finds you well and that your knitting needles have been clacking away like crazy. I wanted to share some exciting news with you: I’ve just added a bunch of new cheeky knitting related t-shirt designs to my website!

Whether you’re a die-hard knitter or just love all things woolly, these shirts are sure to bring a smile to your face. From punny slogans to cute graphics, there’s something for everyone. And with sizes ranging from XS all the way up to 5XL, you can show off your love of knitting no matter your shape or size.

But that’s not all — most of these shirts come in spring/summer-y colors, so you can wear them all season long. Picture yourself sipping lemonade in the backyard, needles in hand, sporting a pink “Buzz Off I’m Counting My Stitches” tee. Sounds pretty great, right?

So head on over to my website and check out these new designs. I promise they’ll add a little extra fun to your knitting routine. And as always, thank you for your support!

Complete with ice-dyed yarn, hand-sculpted and painted lemonade charms, 17 oz tumbler, stickers, a project bag and more, our Woolen Lemonade stand turns this classic cold, refreshing beverage into color, creativity and the happiest of happy mail! Visit the Woolen Lemonade stand on Woolenwomenfiber.com and purchase an already made gorgeous lemonade set OR build your very own CUSTOM lemonade set by picking your very own flavors that will translate into gorgeous color and charms! Each order is entered into a drawing. We draw a winner each Wednesday for our live WoolenWomenWednesday events on Instagram 12 p.m. ET and that lucky maker gets their set made live! This is special on so many levels.

First, you are able to converse with us on how you’d like your set to look. Do you like speckles? Want more orange variegation? A brighter yellow? We want to hear it all! You will be able to be in the chat as we ask you questions and make your perfect set!

Second, this brings nostalgia into your makes! Do you have memories of a cold lemonade on your front porch with that special family member or loved one, or perhaps you had a lemonade stand as a kid? My favorite is my Mom’s lemonade. She would put oranges in the pitcher and it was DELICIOUS! So special. You make this kit your own so it is perfectly special to you!

Third, SamsTinyTrinkets makes her charms absolutely custom and special to your flavors — you pick and provide your input if you join live! What could be more special for the warmer weather then having your very own custom lemonade hanging from your project?

Lastly, you are getting to see the creative process through and through — the process of talking about color as Sami and I match up our pastels and dyes for your set. We talk about execution of technique: what kind of dyeing — maybe ice dyeing or low immersion — and how she will go about sculpting. You get to see the creative process as it unfolds and is executed, seeing as they are all made live, as there is no practice and all the magic happens in real time. This brings you, the maker, into our creative space and gives you a chance to help create if you are building your own set. Truly a one-of-a-kind experience!

Snag your special kit today and join us live for WoolenWomenWednesdays on Instagram live 12 p.m. ET to see if it is your kit we are making!
