Christmas in July continues with Christmas at the Cabin! Think of frost and berries and pine and you’ll fall in love with this rustic yet modern take on Christmas colors. You’ll find this glorious color on several bases and in sparkly sock sets, too! Paired up with some new shades and some familiar, you are sure to find a favorite for your holiday projects.

Have you cast on your Magical Christmas Stocking for our Make-a-Long that lasts the entire month of July? It’s not too late to get started. A quick holiday gift is Purl Soho’s Dumpling Bag, and we’re doing a Knit-a-Long later this month. Plus, there’s lots of other holiday fun including an opportunity to sign up for our limited-edition Christmas and Hannukah boxes!

At Needleworks later this month, we’ll host a Wool Applique class on Friday, July 21st. Instructor Mary Nielsen will teach basic techniques used to stitch the Candle Mats from Bareroots. Choose from three designs, including a special Christmas mat! Class fees cover the kit and three hours of instruction. No experience needed for this beginner class. If you are in the Orlando, Florida area, sign up and join us!

We had so much fun stitching our Super Summer Sweaters we decided to hop right back on the sweater bus and launch the Cumulus Sweater Knit Along! Cumulus kits featuring our luscious Bronte base are live in the shop!

It’s here! It’s finally here! Merry Christmas in July!

The sun may be warm and the winter chill a long way off, but we are still celebrating our favorite summer holidays!

We’re casting on for our Magical Christmas Stocking Make-A-Long that lasts the entire month of July. It wouldn’t be a holiday without a fiber friend swap, and we’ve got one that is easy as 1, 2,3! Plus, lots of other holiday fun coming in the next few weeks including an opportunity to sign up for our limited-edition Christmas and Hannukah preorder boxes!

Wee’ve been playing with all the great COLOR we have in the shop. Last week, we were wowed with Persimmon and Sitting Shiva and this week we’ve brought Teal We Meet Again to the party and the combination of these three colorways is AMAZING! In the spirit of Christmas in July, some sugarplums for you in our newest Many Minis for Ewe pack: Christmas at the Cabin. How beautiful are these? And to round out the dazzling yarn selection, coordinating cousins to our Fleetwood Mac inspired Dye Live Plus colorway: Little Lies and Everywhere. Gorgeous!

Solstice Sock Calendars and Solstice Fiber Calendars (Pre-Orders)

The Winter Solstice Calendars will be inspired by the general witchy cozy vibes of a snow covered forest on solstice, think dark trees, Moon glows and the cronching of snow beneath your boots while it echoes through the forest.
BOTH Calendars. Each year I like to mix up the advent/calendar styles and I couldn’t choose just one so this season we are doing a Solstice Sock Calendar and a FIBER calendar.

Solstice Sock Advent ($200): You will receive 4 sock sets each set being 1- 100g skein and 2 – 20g minis in contrast colors, all on the Nectar base. Alongside the yarn you will also get notions!

Fiber Solstice Advent ($160): 12 -20g bumps alongside the same vibe as the sock sets, not the same colors but same vibe and 1 – 100g Braid.
All of the fiber will be the same blend that way you don’t need to change any spinning techniques between the days!

Preorder days: June 1, 9a ET and July 1, 11a ET — Each preorder will be up for 10 days or until they sell out!

Countdown to Summer!

This will be Created by Elsie B’s sixth seasonal fiber countdown. It started with Spring 2022 and has continued to be a customer favorite.

On Blue Faced Leicester this time, you can choose from a total of 15 oz or 7.5 oz (1 oz or .5 oz pieces)

Orders close on Monday, May 22nd and will ship out May 29th and should arrive with plenty of time to start the daily surprise on June 7th. Starting that day means you’ll open the very last piece on the official first day of summer!

Each of the 15 pieces are packaged individually in a white mini paper lunch bag and there will be pieces of a poem inspired by the season stapled to each bag with the numbered order in which you should unwrap each piece.

How you use the pieces is completely up to you — we’ve had people keep them in individual mini skeins, do one large skein with all the colorways, pair a few days together, or wait until they’ve opened all the days before deciding on the color placement they like best.

The color inspiration for this countdown is red and aquamarine blue, but there will likely be other shades and tones that sneak their way into the final project. Typically each piece includes two or more colors for visual interest as you’re working with them (so each piece isn’t just a straight solid color).

We have amazing specially curated boxes to start your summer off right. These summer solstice boxes are one of our yearly fiber adventures. Choose between two themes: Joyful Jungle (inspired by Tarzan and Jane) or Up, Up, and Away (inspired by the movie Up). Boxes are curated with these themes in mind so that there are colors to suit everyone’s palette. Joyful Jungle will feature amazing earth tones with pops of jungle brights and Up, Up, and Away will feature that gorgeous sky blue with rainbow colors!

Preorders for our special Fiber Adventures to celebrate the summer solstice are available for only a short while longer — through May 25th or until they sell out, so run, don’t walk! Inspired by “A Year Without a Santa Claus,” we will count down each week in July, opening a sock set package a week until July 25th. So many new things, so little time!

Whew!! does anybody else feel like this year is racing by at an incredible pace? I don’t know about you, but I can hardly believe that it is May already and we are rapidly making our way towards summer. Kids will be out soon from school and the weather is getting nicer but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t time to start planning those fall and holiday projects! We have had so many changes and updates this year. It is hard to keep track of them all, but I will try to give you a brief highlight overview!

Our 2023 Advent is released and features themes from our childhood, which mainly means that it is a collection that has been designed off of a number of our favorite games from our childhoods over several decades! This may be one of my absolute favorite advent, I have to admit. Space is limited, but right now we have a good amount available.

We have expanded our yarn bases and now carry over 15 different bases across five different yarn weights and have added fiber breeds across multiple different breeds. Expanding our yarn base offerings has been a goal of mine for a while and I am excited to share that not only have we expanded, but we will be adding at least three additional bases over the next few months.

We have been working on a lot of custom orders, so if you are the type of person that likes to design your own yarn or have a designer work with you to create some thing truly unique to you, you have found the right place to do that! Our shop specializes in custom orders, and we have created many different color combinations for extremely special customer projects! We absolutely love to work with you to come up with something that makes your projects extra special!

We’ve added tons of new colorways, and now also have a huge line of tonals that can be ordered across all our bases!

There’s so much more we could share, but we will leave you to explore!

Coraline Halloween Boxes are here!!

“Don’t go through the door!” It all starts when an inquisitive little girl finds a door in a wall that leads to the other world — one that looks like hers but really isn’t!!

This year’s Halloween Box is inspired by Coraline!

The black cat. Miss Spink and Miss Forcible. The Amazing Mr. Bobo. The Other Mother!!
