This fall, Wool & Wyrd and Knot Bad Britt are excited to co-host the Stitch & Bewitch Make-Along (MAL), a seasonal event inviting knitters and crocheters to celebrate autumn by knitting and crocheting witch hats in community. Participants can choose between two patterns: the Salem Slouch (knit) and the City Witch Hat (crochet). Both designs are available for just $5 each through the month of October.

The event runs from October 5 through October 26, 2025, and is designed to bring makers together across crafts and skill levels in a shared journey. Along the way, participants can enjoy games, group chats, Zoom gatherings, and prizes that encourage connection and keep the momentum going. The Stitch & Bewitch MAL celebrates the joy of seasonal making while strengthening our creative community.

At its heart, this make-along emphasizes what unites us as makers while honoring the unique qualities of each craft. Whether by hook or by needle, every stitch becomes part of a collective tapestry of creativity and strengthens the fabric of our fiber community. Wool & Wyrd and Knot Bad Britt warmly invite knitters, crocheters, and yarn shops alike to celebrate the season together, one witch hat at a time.

Learn more, find the patterns, and sign up via the Visit Shop button or by clicking here.

Join us July 10-14, 2026 on a knitting tour to explore old Montreal, with sightseeing, shopping, knitting, and more. Montreal is the largest city in the Quebec province, with its cobblestone streets in Old Montreal and historic architecture. Known for amazing food and culture, Montreal is like stepping into France without crossing the Atlantic. We will visit the iconic Notre Dame Basilica, take in some art at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, explore a culinary adventure by taking a Montreal food walking tour, and visit a farmer’s market for a French shopping experience. Montreal has incredible yarn stores that we will visit, including La Maison Tricotee and Les Garçons Boutique. Knitting classes will consist of creating knitwear inspired by our travels, all levels of knitting can be accommodated. Hotel (4 nights), admissions, transportation in the city, knitting classes, 7 meals included. Come explore Montreal with us!

Do you like sheep? Do you like yarn and fiber? We’ve got it all at Lambtown Festival! Join us for our 38th annual celebration of all things sheep, lamb, and wool on October 4th and 5th in Dixon, California — about halfway between the Bay Area and Sacramento. Take in a sheep shearing demo, sheepdog herding demo, the sheep & wool shows, the sheep to shawl competition, the skeins & textiles competition, and the California Make It With Wool Contest’s Fashion Show. We also have a hands-on crafting area called Wooly Adventures for kids and the young at heart, plus nearly 100 fabulous vendors, food and drink, and of course… sheep!

Workshop registration is now open, with classes in everything from dyeing to fiber prep to spinning and, of course, knitting and crochet. Want to skip the traffic and arrive in style? Register for our chartered bus from San Francisco or Oakland on Sunday the 5th. This year’s merch featuring our fluffy mascot — Ewenice — is available to order as well, including shirts with Ewenice’s favorite saying: Flock Around, Find Out.

Check out our website for more details, and join our newsletter and follow us on Instagram for all the latest info. We hope to see you there!

Step into an ancient realm of Beauty and Wonder.

Before Frodo and Gandalf, before Sauron and Galadriel, Yavanna Kementari planted the fields and forests of Middle-earth. This J.R.R. Tolkien character is the “lover of all things that grow in the earth… from the trees like towers in forests long ago to the moss upon stones or the small and secret things in the mould.”

Join me for a six-week knit-a-long as we knit the elegant Kementari Stole. Together, we’ll explore the vast forests and fertile plains of Middle-earth, not as we know them during the events of the Lord of the Rings, but in a time so long ago it cannot be measured in years.

The KAL will run over the course of six weeks and will take place through email, on Zoom, and in the Refracted Light Fiber Arts Ravelry Group.

Each week will kick off with an email that contains a link to a group Zoom call where we can get to know our fellow travelers, get oriented to that week’s project goal, and experience the wonder of Middle-earth with readings from The Silmarillion. We can then stay connected throughout the week in the Ravelry group where we can continue chatting about our projects and generally stay up to date.

Throughout the KAL, you will be expertly guided through both the beauty of Middle-earth and the joy of knitting a beautiful stole.

Along the way, there will be opportunities to win one of many lovely prizes, contributed from yours truly as well as a variety of talented designers and artists.

Visit my website to register and for more information about timeline, prizes, and official rules.

Join us for a knitting-filled murder mystery weekend in Denver, CO from November 14th to 16th, 2025! Our Founder, Cheryl, will be joined at the *skein of the crime* by the amazing Cecelia Campochiaro (the inventor of sequence knitting) to host you for the knitting portion of a weekend that requires both your sleuthing and knitting skills. We’ll be at the Halcyon Hotel in Denver, CO, in the fun Cherry Creek neighborhood. The murder mystery is for everyone (not just knitters/crocheters), so you can bring a non-knitter, if you’d like. For knitters (and crocheters!), we’ll be adding on plenty of fun, swag, and knitting time.

The murder mystery kicks off Friday, November 14th, at cocktail hour, and the murderer is revealed on Sunday, November 16th, at breakfast (we’ll also have a farewell lunch Sunday afternoon just for our crafty sleuths!).

You’ll need both the Murder Mystery Weekend package from the Halcyon Hotel and the Knitting Detective Package (that you purchase from Row House) to join us for the knitting portion. The Halcyon Hotel package includes two nights in the hotel, cocktail hour with heavy appetizers on Friday, three meals on Saturday, and breakfast on Sunday, as well as the murder mystery entertainment. The Knitting Detective Package that you purchase from us includes a workshop with Cecelia, a gift bag with a kit of her latest shawl pattern in your choice of color, snacks on Friday, lunch on Sunday, a private knitting room, and more.
