Some of you may have seen on IG or Facebook. I am done dying for the unforeseeable future, I have been dying as work for six years. I have decided I want to pursue some other interests in life. I am selling off my inventory in a Grab Bag Sale manner. I have predominately sock weight yarn left for the grab bag. If interested, I also have roving and mini sets I do not think are posted in my shop as well as a little bit of DK and worsted. If any of these interest you, please either email via the link here or message me on Etsy (I would prefer to send you a PayPal invoice than go through Etsy). The grab bags are 12 skeins for $150-170 (less than wholesale) depending on whether you choose just sock or a combination of weights. You are welcome to let me know a color range preference that I can do my best for. Also, the bases vary.

Thank you for visiting I hope to talk with you!!

Hello everyone! This is our studio’s first post! We are a brand new yarn-dyeing duo from the Pacific Northwest. We just released our first colorway collection this past week that we would love to share with you. It is the first of a two-part collection based on Greek Gods and Goddesses. We also have coordinating stitch marker sets that match the theme of each colorway.

This is the first of many things to come from our studio and we are so excited to announce our other upcoming projects in the next few months! Keep an eye out for subscription boxes, an Advent calendar, and our next collection!

Take a look at our website for this current collect, one-offs, and many handmade stitch markers.

Hello beautiful fiber lovers, have I got a deal for you! As you know, all the U.S. fiber shows have been cancelled this year and I have some really lovely yarn that I dyed up for shows that I need to clear out of my inventory to make room for my new fall colors.

I have two luxury fingering bases listed in the shop that are 40% off! My Shangri-La base is 75% ultra fine Merino/25% mulberry silk and my Wayfarer base is 80% extra fine Merino/10% Cashmere/10% nylon.

Shangri-La normally $42 per 100g skein, now $26
Wayfarer normally $32 per 100g skein, now $22

I have a limited number left, so get them while they last.

Also, it’s #MiniSweaterCallenge time! Each year in August I host a free mini sweater challenge with fabulous yarn prizes. This year I have four new patterns. Simply subscribe at SweaterSisters.com to join in the fun.

If you’re missing the fiber festivals, join the Wool and Fiber Arts Facebook group for a month of fun videos, demos and prizes that culminate in a weekend-long live sale. I’ll be doing some dyeing demos and classes featuring Landscape Dyes (available in the shop!) and will be vending live with lots of specials on Sunday, August 30th at 8:30 p.m. Eastern time.

WayfaringYarns is Sweater Sisters’ in-house Hand-dyed yarn line dyed by Selena in Teton Valley, Wyoming.

I hope you all are staying safe and having loads of fiber fun,
Selena

Spin or felt your way through the first 24 days of December with an Advent Calendar. This year’s theme is the Wizards of Middle Earth (Lord of the Rings inspired).

Each Advent Calendar will be 24 small packages of fiber, one larger package of fiber and a couple non-fiber surprises.

The fiber will be Romeldale/CVM wool from my farm and other luxury fibers. I am including an option to add Angelina/sparkle to your fiber. Total fiber in the package will be 10 oz plus. I envision this fiber release to include sari silk and other luxury fibers that may add slight texture.

Romeldale/CVM sheep are an endangered American Heritage breed. I have been working with this breed for over 10 years and have an established flock. However, my small farm is not self sustaining at this point. Sales from my Etsy shop assist with covering feed and other costs of my small farm.

Hello, friends.

Looking for comfort?

This week the Sew Happy Jane webshop will re-open after a two week long summer holiday. I’ve been resting and working behind the scenes to prepare for what promises to be a busy fall. So many decisions to make, and so many unknowns. What I’m craving the most right now is comfort, and I bet you are, too. I long for cozy days where I can cuddle up worry free with my knitting, my books, and my tea. As I was searching for inspiration for the 2020 Advent Calendars I realized that “cozy” is just what I’m craving.

The Let’s Get Cozy Advents will feature 13 minis (a baker’s dozen) in my hand painted/speckle technique, and one full coordinating tonal skein. The kits will include some comforting extras that I know will make you smile and feel loved. These special boxes will ship the first week of November, and will be packaged with a winter theme. Open them every other day during the month of December, or choose a special holiday to treat yourself to a little extra love. They’ll go on sale at 9 a.m. MST on Saturday, August 1st.

I hope you are well and finding peace and joy in your creativity.

Happy Making,
XX Heather Jane

Floret is a botanically inspired trapezoid shaped wrap that starts with a brioche leaf motif that transitions to a simple lace pattern and ends with a dramatic brioche flower edging. The knitting begins at the center back and is worked down as a triangular shawl until the depth is reached, then the two sides are split and worked separately with shaping along the edges to create each half of the wrap.

There are two versions of this wrap in the pattern — a three-color version and a six-color gradient version. The three-color version was worked in a single-ply yarn from my HandmaineKnits yarn line, while the gradient version was worked in a six-color gradient set from Marianated Yarns.

The pattern is available on my Etsy shop and on Ravelry. Kits for the three-color version are available in the HandmaineKnits Etsy shop, and include two skeins in Foxglove, one skein in Marigold, and one mini skein in Rosebud.

As most of you are well aware, I love animals. That’s why our next mystery box celebrates our four-legged family members! There are a few details about this mystery box that make it extra special. The first is how customizable it is! You have your choice of cat or dog, notions only, pin and notions, or cuff and notions. Now, for the big surprise. Instead of exclusive colors of Suavest Sheep, mystery box recipients will be the first-ever stitchers to try my two new shapes of end minders — inspired by our favorite furry stitch companions!

Everyone will receive a progress keeper set, stitch markers, end minders, a surprise item, a digital pattern code, and a clear jar to store your treats. There’s also the Rainin’ Cats and Dogs box which includes all of the notions for both pets and the Whole Kitt-en Ka-Poodle — which includes every single treasure from these sets!

I can’t wait for you to see all of the purr-fectly adorable treats hiding inside these awesome packages!

Hi folks! How is it nearly August??? I always find that summer is a great time to make socks, wouldn’t you agree?! They are quick, portable, lightweight and always useful! So with that in mind I have some sock-related news for you.

Vikki Bird’s fundraising Seed Head sock pattern is now published. Until 14th August 2020, £2 from the purchase of this pattern will go towards The Flower Power Fund (for Marie Curie UK). You can buy the pattern on Payhip and LoveCrafts. We have an update coming next week of the yarn that Vikki used – Tempo 4ply. This is our PROPER sock yarn – by that I mean it’s a nice tough Merino (more coarse than in our other yarns, but still soft) with nylon added. It’s incredibly hard wearing in my experience (I have socks in it that I’ve been wearing a LOT for nine years now!!). The update goes live on Tuesday the 28th of July at 7pm UK time.

On the subject of Marie Curie, our Flower Power yarn raised a grand total of £1667!! So thank you ever so much to everyone who bought some – and I have to give another big shout out of thanks to YarnUndyed for donating the yarn. This is the kind of awesome thing that can happen when people work together. ????

Going back to socks… we still have a great selection of sock yarn from the latest update. Brimham High Twist is perfect for socks as it is machine washable and hard wearing. If you like your socks with a bit more interest, why not pair a skein with a contrasting mini skein? They’re also available in Brimham High Twist as well as other bases, including sparkly silver Nateby 4ply and sparkly gold Rosedale 4ply. There is also a good selection of Harewood Fingering still available from our last update so you should find plenty in stock for any project.

For the crocheters we have stocked the latest book from The Crochet Project! The Shawl Project Book 5 features five designs using laceweight yarns and we are totally in love with it! Each design has a different construction method with a combination of join as you go, granny stripes and more! We have a new post on the blog introducing you to all the designs and providing our suggestions for which of our yarns you could use. Our Titus Lace, which would be the perfect pairing with this book, is out of stock but we have plans for another update very soon. We will let you know when that will be as soon as we can!

Next up, a little bit of housekeeping. There is a new episode of The Wholly Irregular ECY Shedcast on the Eden Cottage Yarns YouTube channel and it has captions! (We are working to add captions to all episodes so please do bear with us!) This one is a nice quick one showing you the yarn for the update after next which will be a singles special — featuring Keld Fingering and Coniston Fingering. In the Shedcast I say that the update will be on 28th July but that is the Tempo update (OOPS!). Keld Fingering and Coniston Fingering, which are both fingering weight merino singles blends, will be coming on 7th August!

Other future updates in the plan include Hayton DK, Titus Lace and a Summer Stash Box!
