The BigFootFibers Advent Calendars are back for preorder!

What better gift to yourself than yarn?

These sets are designed to go with any designer’s Advent patterns — past, present, or future.

Sets include:
• 24 individually-wrapped and numbered minis, one to open each day December 1-24
• One full-sized skein to open December 25
• A Christmas-themed, shawl-sized bag by SouthernSparrowHandmade
• Many other goodies to unwrap!

These sets are limited, due to all of the parts that go into them and the number of other makers involved, so grab yours now. Once these are gone, I can’t offer them again this season!

Want the best of both worlds? Hand-dyed yarn and the newest knitting pattern all in one kit!

The first design in our four-month knit kit series is open for preorders August 5th-12th. Featuring the Archer’s Beanie design by Lacy from Two Arrows & Co, it’s simple yet classic, designed with the guys in mind. There are two colorways to choose from. Great for gifts or a matching set. Bonus: there is enough yarn to make two beanies!

The season of ordering Advent Calendars is upon us and this year I am so excited for our theme! After a lot of thought and rereading of the series I have decided to put my latest infatuation with A Court of Thorns and Roses to work and present to you An Advent of Wool and Minis!

Listing will be under Yarn Club

24 individually wrapped and labeled – 10g minis inspired by the book series by Sarah J. Mass that includes A Court of Thorns and Roses, A Court of Mist and Fury and A Court of Wings and Ruin. Yes, there is a fourth A Court of Frost and Starlight, but there is so much inspiration in the first three books alone that I had to stop myself somewhere.

One 100g full skein will be included as the final surprise to open on the 25th day!

What is going to be different this year is the calendars will be available on two different bases.

Ginger | 75% SW Merino | 20% Nylon | 5% Gold Stellina

Isaac |100% SW Polwarth

What is a batik you may ask…

Batik is a “resist” process for making designs on fabric. The artist uses wax to prevent dye from penetrating the cloth, leaving “blank” areas in the dyed fabric. The process, wax resist then dye, can be repeated over and over to create complex multicolored designs.

These are gorgeous and unique and I hand picked each one for its special charm. Also… I made a thing. I just enjoy some snark with my beauty sometimes and this bright turquoise meme-made fabric hit the spot!

All these items are limited and ready to ship, so shop early!

Listings go live Friday at 9 a.m. PDT!

Happy Sunshine!

Four weeks, four mini sweaters… who could ask for a cuter knitting challenge?! I’m hosting my third annual mini sweater challenge and it begins Monday, August 5th.

How to join? Simply subscribe to www.SweaterSisters.com and each Monday a new PDF mini sweater pattern will appear in your email inbox.

How long is the challenge? Four weeks. You will receive a total of four mini sweater patterns, each featuring a different sweater construction on four consecutive Mondays beginning August 5th.

Are there prizes? Yes! Each week I will award TWO yarn prizes. One in my Facebook group, WayfaringYarns Designs, and one on Instagram. The fourth week I will be awarding TWO grand prizes of a sweater’s worth of yarn — one grand prize awarded in the Facebook group and one on Instagram.

How do I enter for the prize draws? For the Facebook group, simply post a photo of your finished mini sweater for that week. For Instagram, post a photo of your finished weekly mini sweater with the hashtag #mnisweaterchallenge and tag SweaterSistersDesigns.
To be eligible for the grand prize you must post one photo of all four completed mini sweaters.

Can I enter in the Facebook group as well as Instagram? Yes! Your name will be put in the draw for both groups if you are posting in both places.

I will ship prizes all over the world. Everyone is eligible to play and win. Watch for my weekly live videos on Mondays in the WayfaringYarns Designs Facebook Group and in SweaterSistersDesigns Instagram stories.

Materials needed per mini sweater:
-Between 30 and 36 grams of any size yarn (I use DK weight with these sweaters)
-DPNs or needles for your preferred method of knitting small circumferences in the round in the size recommended for your choice of yarn.
-Four stitch markers
-Small amount of waste yarn

Japanese Knot Bags are the perfect bag to carry your current project in! They also make great gifts for teachers, colleagues, kids, and your knitting or crochet friends. We just stocked two new whimsical, fun designs that will bring a smile to your face every time you reach for your current project.

It will hold 1-2 balls of yarn or a small wallet, keys, mobile phone, and more! This reversible knot bag with a round base is perfect for daily errands.

For a change of pace, turn it inside out for a completely different look. It has no zippers or buttons to catch on the yarn — just slip the long handle through the short handle to close the bag and go! This little bag makes it easy to knit while on go.

Bag measures approximately 9″ W x 12.5″ L including the handles.

We’ve also added some lavender sachets — perfect to keep bugs away from your stash or freshening up your sock drawer. You could also tuck one in with your precious finished objects in storage, ensuring that they’re fresh and bug free when the weather turns chilly!

And finally, our newest colorway: “Man Flu” (noun) — an illness that causes the male to be helpless and sicker than any other family member. In females: a cold. Couldn’t have said it better myself. We’ve all experienced man flu. It’s a debilitating illness that has no cure and makes loved ones wonder why they married the afflicted. This colorway is a nod to all of us who have conquered Man Flu and lived to tell about it.

It has turquoise, reds, and purples surrounded by grays. We’ve only got a few skeins left!

Imagine opening a small muslin bag each day in December and finding a gorgeous mini skein of yarn inside. Then imagine opening a larger muslin bag on the 25th and finding a spectacular full skein of yarn created just for you inside. You don’t have to just imagine it! You can live that experience this December when you sign up for the Round Table Yarns Advent Calendar.

You’ll receive a box — purple, of course — that upon opening will reveal 24 small muslin bags labeled 1-24, indicating which one you should open on which day. Inside each bag will be a mini skein of yarn (10g on the Merlin base, which is 75% Superwash Merino/25% nylon fingering weight yarn) in a semi-solid/tonal color. Each color will transition from one to the next, going full circle in the end back to the beginning so that you can use the yarn in one project if you desire.

Also in the box will be one full size, 100g skein of yarn, also the Merlin base, which will be created specifically for you based upon the colors you list on the sign-up form (therefore, the yarn may or may not coordinate with the mini skeins, so most likely plan to use it in a separate project).

For more information and to sign up, visit https://roundtableyarns.com/pages/advent-calendar. Sign-ups run through the end of August; payment can be made up front or through an installment plan.

The dog days of summer are the ideal time to tackle that gorgeous lace shawl you’ve been contemplating. Hopefully you have a little extra time off from the usual demands, but the thought of a big wooly sweater on your lap just doesn’t appeal. Something substantial, yet light and airy, fits the bill perfectly.
I might be the world’s slowest lace knitter and, to be frank, lace yarn just doesn’t sell that well. But I might love lace weight yarn best of all, and dyer’s prerogative, I offer three different bases.

Siren Lace is a 80/20 Merino silk 2ply. Each ply has a very tight twist, plied together a bit loosely. This one is perfect for showing off those complex lace patterns while giving a light as air, ethereal finished object. The silk content adds to the strength of the yarn, while lending a fine hint of sheen.

Harbour Lace is my Merino singles base and the one that I dye in both solids and variegated colors. I have a weakness for singles in all weights, but lace is the one that truly makes my heart sing. It’s Superwash, so all the soft squishy goodness with low risk for felting or pilling.

Yakima Lace is the belle of the ball — a Merino, silk and yak blend, this one has it all. The wool gives this singles yarn strength and spring, the silk adds a distinct but subtle sheen and the natural colored yak down adds the magic. It has a wonderful halo, and the natural silvery grey color create an irresistible depth and nuance of hues when dyed. It’s practically iridescent.

To add to the temptation, I’m offering 15% off all my lace yarns for the whole month of August. No coupon code required.
