Our new Barefoot fingering base is made with 100% Uruguayan Polwarth wool!! Polwarth wool is loftier and bouncier than Merino, with incredible memory. It has a sturdier feel that Merino, but is still next to the skin soft. Not to mention, it takes the dye beautifully!!
All Laneras yarns are custom spun, unique to our specifications, using wool that is ethically sourced and sustainably produced in Uruguay. We then hand dye them in North County San Diego. There is truly no other yarn like these on the market! Both our non-Superwash and our Superwash yarns are produced using almost exclusively renewable energy, with zero pollution entering the environment from runoff. All our wool is sourced from family owned companies with Responsible Wool Standard, Global Organic Textile Standard and OEKO-TEX certifications, ensuring the sheep are treated with the best possible care, and the wool is produced in the most environmentally responsible way possible.
