Hello Indie Untangled! This is Angela from MollyGirl Yarn! This is my first post, and I’m making it a good one by announcing something I’ve been wanting to do for years! MollyGirl is having a Name The Color Contest! Entering is easy – there are two simple steps:

• Go here to fill out a quick form.
• If you haven’t already, join the MollyGirl Fan Club group on Ravelry!

There is a quick survey attached to the entry form, but you aren’t required to fill it out if you don’t want to. There’s SO MUCH new stuff coming for MollyGirl in the next few months, and I want to make sure you keep loving what we’re doing, so anything you decide to write will be helpful!

What do you get for winning? Swag. Lots of swag. And also bragging rights. Specifically? The winner will receive one skein of this color on their base of choice (maybe even spinning fiber!) AND a surprise grab bag to go with it! Which, let’s face it, will almost certainly include more yarn =D

So don’t wait! Enter now through midnight EST on 5/15! I’m not sure yet if I’ll pick a winner myself or put it to a public vote, but make sure to follow us on Instagram, our email list, or keep your eye on the Fan Club to keep up-to-date with the contest proceedings! This will be a part of our second round of spring colors (there are three new ones waiting in the wings!) and so once the winner is determined all of those will be announced together in various locations, including Indie Untangled, of course!

That’s it! I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

This year has been off to a seriously rough start. We have lost so many amazing souls, so we thought that perhaps a tribute bag to two of these should be in order.

It was hard finding the right way to honor them since both Prince and Bowie are such diverse and creative souls. We hope you enjoy our tribute. We have enjoyed relishing in all the amazing legacy they left us while making it!

Friday May 6th at 9am PST, please join us for a very limited Bag of the Month in our own exclusive fabric!

It’s time for the next Quarterly Yarn Club installment!

This Quarter’s theme is celebrating Terry Pratchett’s Discworld. Sign-ups are now open for every Man, Woman, Child, Witch, Wizard, Troll, Gnome, Dryad, Centaur… well, you get the idea. Sign-ups are open to everyone! So head over here and sign up now. Don’t forget that sign-ups close earlier this month, on 16th of May, so don’t miss out!

Remember, the Quarterly club box is a mystery box, with teasers revealed throughout the month of sign-ups via Instagram, Facebook and the Ravelry group.

Though to give you some idea, last quarter’s club was Firefly themed and inspiration came from the Ship and the Crew. With the exclusive club skein inspired by Serenity, in all its slightly battered glory, and the mini skein set representing Captain Tightpants – Malcolm Reynolds, Companion – Inara Serra, Reader – River, and Pilot – Good old Hoban Washbourne. The extras in this quarter will get a shakeup to be more themed related, but in last quarter you can see the themed stitch markers, notions pouch and Crewmember-covered buttons.

In other Third Vault news, our latest pattern has now been released. The Noughts and Crosses Cowl is now available on Ravelry and in the Etsy store as a yarn kit. The pattern plays with the juxtaposition of cables and lace, creating a harmonious balance between the two that makes it the perfect spring cowl, or the ideal cover-up for summer evenings.

We are huge fans of Game of Thrones. So much that I couldn’t resist doing another series of colors inspired by the show. Seven new Limited Edition colors are available for order throughout the month of May and June. From brightly colored Wildfire, to soft and feminine Little Bird and to dark and stormy Pyke, there’s sure to be one or two to catch your fancy.

Single-ply yarn lovers rejoice! We have just published a shop update featuring an all single-ply worsted weight yarnapalooza of lofty, fluffy, shiny superwash merino in our slightly thick and thin textured Mashmellow-Rino yarn base. This update includes vibrant non-pooling variegated yarns, new neon variegated yarns and matching neon, highlighter marker box inspired semi-solids, as well as a cafe au lait colourway inspired by the coffee shop where a local knitting group meets on Saturdays for some of the best doughnuts in town.

This is a quick update for everyone who has been nice enough to email and say this miss us! Some of you have noticed changes on the website, as we incorporate the new logo and start changing up the site. While I’ve been away from selling yarn, we’ve been busy knitting samples. When the new site launches, there will be lots of advice on which yarns love which patterns, how the different colorways knit up (which can be a surprise from how they look in the skein), and making decisions about substituting yarns. The opportunity to test knit extensively with our yarn will enhance your experience and the information we can provide to help you get just what you want. We are really looking forward to the launch, but it won’t be for a while yet. Please stay in touch with us on The Elliebelly Blog until then!

Finish your chic ensemble in this Springtime in Paris inspired cowl as you float down the Seine River towards a romantic rendezvous at a French cafe. Drop stitches and wavy cables flow continuously with the movement of the river. Fresh croissants and cafe au lait won’t be the only tempting treats warming your heart.

About the cuffs: I designed the Seine cuffs to conquer grafting fears before moving onto the Seine Cowl. Knit in just an hour, Seine Cuffs make the perfect gift-able knit, for old and young alike. Wear individually on one wrist or multiples in a row, mix and match drop cuffs with non-drop cuffs for a custom look all your own.

Buy either pattern and get the other one free.

These tech edited and test knit patterns include written directions, charts and a You Tube video.

With Pointed Sticks Yarn is excited to announce the launch of the limited edition Cape Cod Collection! This new collection is made up of four new colorways plus one favorite that capture snapshots of Cape Cod.

With the launch of this collection, we are also introducing a new base – Calligraphy Fingering! Calligraphy Fingering is 50% superwash merino/50% silk. Each skein is 100 grams and 438 yards. This base takes color in a more subtle way than some of my other bases, and the result is a watercolor effect, perfect for this collection!

The Cape Cod Collection will launch on Friday, April 29th at 7:00 p.m. EST in the With Pointed Sticks Yarn Etsy shop, and will only be available until the end of July! Full skeins of each color will be available on Ballpoint Sock (80% superwash merino/20% nylon, 100g/400y) and the new Calligraphy Fingering bases. Mini skein sets of all five colors will be available in both bases as well. All colors will be available dyed-to-order on any of my current bases (full skeins only – mini skeins cannot be dyed-to-order).
