Inspired by a vibrant day spent wandering the woods and soaking in the changing light and colors, the Woodland Wander Cowl is designed to highlight your favorite hand-dyed yarn pairings. This cowl is knit flat on the bias and seamed together at the end for effortless styling. It features slipped stitches and textured stitches to add interest to the stripes as well as i-cord edges for a polished finish. It’s perfect for an adventurous beginner. Skills: knit, purl, increase, decrease, mattress stitch.

The pattern image is shown in Sew Happy Jane’s Delightful DK in the colors Spruce and Leaf Peepers, which are currently available for preorder. The kit includes the PDF pattern and two skeins of yarn.

Visit my website to shop for other seasonally inspired perfect pairings. This pattern works well with both high and low contrast yarn pairings to create a completely different effect, so don’t be afraid to experiment (or try using mini skeins for the stripes!).

Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be about candy hearts and chocolates. In our house we always celebrate Balance Times Day — this is what my daughter thought the day was called when she was just learning to talk. It sounded so absolutely perfect we decided to keep it. Ten years later this is still our holiday. The themes of this collection are sweet colors, pretty patterns, and celebrating the quiet moments and practices — like fiber crafts — that keep us balanced in our lives. The collection includes new Simple Project Bags in pretty linens with lovely floral accents. I also added new Double Triple Zipper Bags — two zipper bags joined to form a third snap-close pocket between them. They’re great for keeping your project bits and pieces organized, and also make a great travel organizer. One would make such a sweet gift for someone you love.

There are also a few stitch marker sets and lavender hearts filled with 100% organic French lavender. Pop one into your project bag, your drawer, or your closet. They’re also a lovely small gift. I hope you’ll find something you love, and have a happy Balance Times Day!

Terrapin Fiberworks’ February Bookworm Club color is Dragonfire! This is a rich, jewel-toned, yet still fiery variegate that marries orange, burgundy, fuchsia, and gold. We are offering it across our usual eight plant-based, vegan yarn bases — organic cottons, linen blends, Tencel, and more!

This is our a la carte offering for the club — you do not need to be a subscriber to pick up a few skeins. 🙂 We are reading dragon-y books this month, so if you’ve finished Onyx Storm and are craving some more fire, you will get our e-digest of book suggestions to go with your yarn.
