Hi! I’m Chrystee of Play at Life Fiber Arts. I’ve been dyeing yarn and fiber on a small scale in Southeast Massachusetts since 2009. I spent many years juggling parenting duties, and working a day job while trying to keep my little yarnie business chugging along. I’m happy to still be at it and even happier to be able to pursue this as a full time gig now!

I focus on dyeing variegated and coordinating semisolid colorways on yarns and spinning/felting fibers. I especially love colorwork and fade sets, and I’m always coming up with new rainbows — brights, neons, dark, moody — I can’t get enough rainbows!

The Glow Gauge makes swatch measuring easy!

The nights are getting colder over here in Scotland and the end of the year is fast approaching. We’ve updated the shop with new colourways and yarns, including our non-Superwash and plant fibre bases. Since it’s that time of year, we’ve stocked our Baubles, which include a geeky yarn colourway and a little extra all wrapped up in a pretty box or fancy bauble to put on or under your tree or mantle.

We’ve also got our newest range of hand-dyed project bags, with the fabric colourways celebrating autumn, the Aurora, and watercolour paintings. A full collection of Atlas, Calypso, and Luna bags enable you to choose between a large all-purpose crossbody bag, a more traditional roll-top project bag, and a perfect small to medium bag for projects on the go.
