– It’s a repair hook
– It’s a cable needle
– It’s a DUO!

Introducing the ultimate multi-tool for your knitting bag! This handy little bamboo needle is the perfect size for fixing mistakes, crossing cables, picking up stitches, and adding crochet embellishments. It’s stamped with size information and comes in a pack of three popular sizes – G/4mm (US 6), H/5mm (US 8), and J/6mm (US 10). So compact and convenient, it’s sure to become a go-to in your knitting bag!

Often, in your crochet or knitting project, you will need to place a temporary or movable stitch marker. Progress keepers will work for this, but check out these great open coil stitch markers. Made of zinc alloy, they are powder coated with the best of springtime floral colors. These markers are lightweight enough for the smallest of yarns and will not distort your stitches. The coating on the metal makes them smooth and snag free! These markers are not magnetic, unfortunately. But the size and pretty colors will make them easy to find in your container o’markers!
Set of 36 markers, six of each color.  Each stitch marker is a little over 1 centimeter across.
Use multiple colors to mark special stitches, or use one of each color on each side of your two-color brioche!

“I dream my knitting, and I knit my dream.”

Vincent van Gogh has been an inspiration to many, including myself, but how would you interpret those gorgeous paintings into yarn? Come along with me on this journey to find out! From his earliest paintings of the common folk to the little yellow house to the ever famous “Starry Night,” this year is sure to be an adventure in painting!

Each month of 2023, I will be creating a yarn colorway inspired by one of van Gogh’s works, starting with his earliest and ending with his last. Each month’s colorway will come with a fun fact card that is all about the work in question and/or his life at that time.

$45 gets you a skein of yarn, the fun fact card, a monthly stitch marker and one to two other items that are van Gogh related. Some items may be knitting/crochet tools, others may just be fun items. Subscribers will also receive a discount on other items from my shop, including the option to order more of each monthly color at a discount.

Subscription members will get their choice of yarn base each month and an email will be sent to ask what you’d prefer. If you do not reply, the default base is my “light” base – 100% SW Merino, fingering, 400yds. Right now, other options are DK (100% SW Merino) and sock (Merino/nylon blend).

Not sure if you want to subscribe? I will usually have a preorder each month for the skein only (no items included).

All packages will ship the last week of the month, to ensure that I have plenty of time to account for all subscriptions, dye yarn, and find goodies.

Our Wednesday Spooky Mystery box, based upon the hit Netflix show Wednesday is now available! We’ve been loving the show and enjoying the adventures of the protagonist, Wednesday Addams. Her acerbic wit and monotone fashion taste spun us for a loop down the dark stairs… in a good way!

And what do we do when we fall in love with something? Well, we dye yarn! In this case, we offer an entire themed mystery box that we think you will love! The premium goodies are amazing and we think you’ll cackle with glee upon digging into the box… like one does into a grave. 🙂 Check out the mood board for hints about colors and tone of the box.

Choose your yarn base and how many hanks and leave the rest to us. The yarn colorway has been planned and it’s amazing…and it’s exclusive! The colorway is a split hank; something we don’t do often as it’s so labor intensive, but it turns out so unique and beautiful and the vibe of this box is just right for it!

Our 2023 Holiday Calendars are now available on presale! The Eight Nights of Hanukkah and Twelve Days of Christmas calendars for 2023 promise to be our most interactive holiday offering yet. Each is an invitation to tea and will be filled with yarn, goodies, and fun and interesting opportunities to learn and do more! Calendars are only available while supplies last and right now, early bird pricing is available. It’s the best time to order. Many of our friends order both as the yarn and goodies are different in each! We’re marking our calendar now and hope to see you at the “tea salon” next year for the holidays.

While the Bee Keeper’s Quilt Club has closed for new subscriptions, we have a few Tool Kits left. The bags sold out super fast, but you can still join in the fun for our 2023 Annual Project. Look for the thread in our Facebook group, the Yarny Ewes, to participate throughout the year.

So many good things this week, so be sure to check out all the updates below and then join us at 9:30 AM EST on Saturday for our LIVE! podcast over on YouTube! We can’t wait to see EWE!

My absolute favorite thing this year was designing the Mother’s Day Surprise Box and putting together our 2022 Advent Box.

These were true surprises that I got to give to YOU. Things that I knew you hadn’t seen before. And presents that you didn’t have to pick out for yourselves. I would hope that everyone who received one could say, “Oh! I hadn’t seen that before!”

I have had a lot of people ask if we are doing surprise boxes again next year and I’m happy to announce that YES WE ARE!

We’re doing a whole Surprise Box Club in fact!

And I’m giving you up to $80 off!

There is no coupon necessary for this deal and the early bird pricing and bonuses will be available for everyone who joins between now and Jan 1.

The club includes three seasonal boxes, to be shipped in March, June, & September.

Our themes are:

June – Playful Pool Party
September – Crisp Autumn Evening

Each box will contain:
At least 8 items

Thank you all SO MUCH for making my 2022 so incredibly special and I can’t wait to spoil you rotten in 2023 as well. ????

Hello all from a very frosty ECY Shedquarters. Our latest update is now live on the website and it is Bowland Aran! This is our Bluefaced Leicester Aran-weight yarn, so if you are a fan of British yarns this is the one for you! We have restocked with a variety of colours so you have plenty to choose from.

Despite the recent price increases, we have made the decision to keep Aran- and chunky-weight yarns cheaper to make those larger projects a bit more affordable, so we really hope that that helps. As a special extra we will also include a free print copy of Cardamom Rose by Thea Colman in with any orders of three or more skeins of any of our Aran yarns!

Since its debut, Bowland Aran has been really popular, being selected for a number of designs and chosen for many projects. You can see these in our Projects and Patterns blog post HERE. One of our favourites is the Woodbine sweater by Fiona Alice which you can find on LoveCrafts. This uses two colours of Bowland Aran with one colour of Eldwick Lace and we have a selection of yarn packs for this design on the website. We added a handful of batches of Eldwick Lace to the website for these packs so do check out the selection of these as well. The Bowland Aran restock means that we were also able to restock yarn packs for some of the Aran-weight designs in the Cat Knits book by Marna Gilligan. We have copies of the book available on the website and yarn packs for some designs. The Flippy Kitten Mittens and the Peeky Pom Pom Hat are both quick makes and an easy introduction to intarsia knitting.

Coming up very soon we will have a few batches of Bowland 4ply hitting the website to correlate with the release of the Snowdrop Sweater pattern from Zara Powter, aka LilyPurlDesign, which is available on Etsy now. Shortly after that we will also have a new Aran-weight yarn, Brimham Aran, which is extrafine Merino with nylon. This is a lovely soft yarn but with the added durability that comes from nylon. Looking further forward, January will see a bumper mini skein update which features ALL the mini skeins in our range! So although we have now passed the last recommended postage dates for arrival before Christmas there is a lot more to look forward to. If you are stuck for last minute gifts we do have digital pattern downloads and gift cards which are delivered to your inbox automatically, even when we are closed!

We will be closed from Friday 22nd December, through until Monday 9th January so orders placed over the festive period will not be sent until after we are back in the new year.

We’re thrilled to announce our 2023 Annual Project: The Beekeeper’s Quilt Club! We have options for knitters and crocheters. This is our most robust annual project yet with a private Facebook group for members, quarterly Zoom Happy Hours, a monthly yarn subscription with bee-related swag, a gorgeous club bag, a donation to a vetted bee charity and more! Each little hexie is an FO in and of itself so there’s NO GUILT for not “keeping up.” Finished projects can range from coaster size to full king sized quilts. Let’s craft together and enjoy the year with a focus on bees.

All of the details are on our website and you really don’t want to miss it!

Salinger Pop Club, a monthly delivery of a mini hank + coordinating stitch marker is open NOW for a limited time! Don’t let this opportunity get away as club spots aren’t often available. Each month, a delightful EXCLUSIVE colorway comes to you along with the stitch marker. Club colorways are fully exclusive and these little minis are fab for pops of color in projects.

We’ve got some new Della Q accessories in the shop this week and we think you will SWOON over the Maker’s Train Case. Don’t miss them!

So many good things this week, so be sure to check out all the updates below and then join us at 9:30 AM EST this morning for our LIVE! podcast over on YouTube!  We can’t wait to see EWE!

Let’s face it, not all stitch markers are created equal. Some markers LOOK pretty on a website, but once you get them on your needles, they leave you less than delighted.

Maybe they’re a little too heavy.

Maybe the loop has a nasty habit of catching on finer yarns.

Maybe the pretty charm that you loved so much likes to tangle with your working yarn every time you purl.

Maybe the ring is so big on your tiny needles that you feel like you’re swimming (or you can never find one BIG enough for those chunky knits you love).

Believe me, I’ve been there. That’s why I set out to create the PERFECT set of stitch markers for you

Infinity Ring are hands down my absolute favorite stitch markers on the planet. Due to their unique shape, these little beauties are the perfect stitch markers for everyday knitting. The unique teardrop shape gives just a little bit more wiggle room than traditional round loops and lets each marker glide from needle to needle like butter (seriously, you won’t believe how lovely that is).

All ends are safely tucked into the decorative bead so there is absolutely nothing to snag on even your most delicate fine yarns. The little bead hugs close to your needles, making them just substantial enough to feel easily as you knit (so you don’t just blow past it) but unobtrusive enough that there is nothing to tangle in your yarn or your stitches.

Mystery bags are fun! You never know what you’re going to get. I have a metric ton of awesome and random charms, so I thought, “Hey Bonnie, why don’t you make mystery sets of Progress Keepers and combine them with coordinating set of Classic Round Stitch Markers?”

And then I thought, “Hey Other Bonnie, that sounds like a fun idea!”

In each Black as Night Mystery Envelope, there will be a totally random progress keeper featuring a Magical Mystery Charm, along with ten of my Classic Round Stitch Markers. You can even request what size of Classic Round Stitch Markers you’d like:

SMALL MARKERS SET contains stitch markers that will fit needles from size US3/3mm through US5/3.75mm.
MEDIUM MARKERS SET contains stitch markers that will fit needles from size US6/4mm through US10/6mm.
LARGE MARKERS SET contains stitch markers that will fit needles from size US11/8mm through US15/10mm.

If you’re concerned that you’ll receive a double set if you order more than one, Bonnie and Other Bonnie do their best to track each set to make sure that doesn’t happen! These Mysterious Sets make great gifts and are fun for stitch marker exchanges.
