Showing LANIVENDOLE - Italian Yarns & Fibres

Approaching the beginning of winter, we had almost three weeks of recurring storms, heavy snow and freezing winds, that made us dive into our woollies and stay home mostly knitting and dyeing. As it often happens, we get to have ideas when we are at work at the pots, watching our colors develop… and this time we came to a sort of mood-palette that grew in our minds: our Winter Palette, made of a selection of shades that reckon with this dark and cold season coming.

We wanted to insert all the colors that would lovely match our mood and that could be used together in cozy project. To do so, we took a few recipes from one base, and dyed them over others, mixing up our current array of shades.

We played this game only on our fingering hand-dyed bases, A Chic and A Heavenly Blend, so that you can use them both in a pattern requiring the same gauge.

But we’re not finished yet! We added to the shop limited edition stitch markers that are hand moulded by our talented friend Carla @laboratorioindie, with whom we already collaborated for a club and Advents. She created four super cute figures perfect to jump into our Winter Mood, made in copper, brass and aluminum.

All sets and the Winter Mood palette will be available in our Shop starting from:
FRIDAY DECEMBER 12 @ 18.00 CET

!!Plus, in the shop you’ll find a few copies of the lovely Yedra Knits – ISSUE 1, that contains many awesome patterns and the gorgeous Cornelius sweater featuring our A Chic Blend Nubi!!

A few useful notes:
All yarns, magazines and markers are ready to ship unless they sell out. Shipping runs regularly to the U.S. and Canada, though it may take longer due to the pandemic situation, but we’ll keep track of each parcel in case you need help.

Yarns featured in the Winter Mood palette are:

A Heavenly Blend: 50g – 225m per skein, 50% Aquilana Wool – 25% alpaca – 25% cashmere, hand dyed.
A Chic Blend: 50g – 225m per skein, 60% wool – 20% alpaca – 20% mohair, hand dyed.

All our yarns contain italian fibres, and are minimally processed in a small chain production, nylon free and non-Superwash.

In the last month we saw quite a bunch of collaborations giving birth to awesome patterns featuring our yarn, so we thought this could be the perfect occasion to share some sources of inspiration to boost your knitting… in case you lacked a bit of it!

Also, we finally have our beloved 100% wool sport weight in the shop again, after an almost two-year wait from the breeders. They selected a wonderfully fine fibre, that’s why it took so long, and now we have dyed a brand new palette that matches in gourgeous contrast with the previous pastel tones we had developed. Almost all of the shades are available in the shop.

It was really a joy to see our hand-dyed shades taking shape and so we decided to dedicate a special Shop Update for these wonderful designs. We chose to share three patterns that actually use all different yarn bases, and knitting techniques, so they almost match every need or taste:

BROGNA SWEATER by Rievive is knitted in A Stormy Blend fingering in all its natural shades, with all the effective details that Rie inserts in all her patterns. Release date: NOV. 19

TRIFARI SWEATER by Paula Pereira is knitted in A Heavenly Blend as main color and A Chic Blend as contrast, with subtle colorwork enhanced by a delicate texture, a cuddle to wear. Just released on Ravelry!

CALOROSO SHAWL by Aleks Byrd is knitted in A Pure and Simple Wool, a steek cabled huge wrap to dive in, with interesting shape and fun to knit throughout. Release date: NOV. 19

A few useful notes:
All yarn is ready to ship unless it sells out.
Shipping runs regularly to the U.S. and Canada, though it may take a longer due to the pandemic situation, but we’ll keep track of each parcel with you in case you need help.

Yarns featured in the patterns are:

A Pure and Simple Wool: 100g – 300m per skein, 100% Aquilana wool, single ply, hand dyed.
A Stormy Blend: 50g – 225m per skein, 70% wool – 30% alpaca, in three undyed natural shades.
A Heavenly Blend: 50g – 225m per skein, 50% Aquilana Wool – 25% alpaca – 25% Cashmere, hand dyed.

All our yarns contain italian fibres, and are minimally processed in a small chain production, nylon free and non-Superwash.

This is our very first Advent Calendar, we’ve been eager to make one since we started our own yarn production, for many reasons, from celebrating childhood memories to making a very special color collection inspired by winter and Christmastime… but truly in this so troubled and scary year we wanted even more to celebrate and share some sheer joy, and this seems quite the perfect treasure to make and to give.

We’ve had tons of ideas to theme this special event, but at last we thought that yarn had to be the focus, our hand-dyed colors had to tell our story, and a few treats had to be the fun and extra delight. So we worked on a bundle of hand-dyed shades to cheer up winter days, and bless both the snowy skies and cozy fireplaces; we got inspired by the atmosphere of simple bliss and intimate happiness that we feel gathering with our loved ones, just for the sake of staying together and enjoying the moment.

We chose to use A Chic Blend for the yarn base, which is our most iconic perhaps, fluffy and warm on one side, and carrying a quite good yardage to be used in plenty of patterns requiring color playing.

For the treats included, we worked again with the talented Carla of @laboratorioindie to make the cutest stitch markers we’ve ever handled, all molded and engraved by hand, in shiny metal, inspired by the mood that will accompany this whole bundle.

Please make note of a few useful information about the Calendar:

Listings will be visible on our Webshop from September 18, 18.00 h CEST.
Listings will be open until September 30, unless they go sold out before; shipping will be scheduled in early October.

An unexpected new yarn will be released on next shop update!

What?!?!
Yes, after months of doubts about this batch that was spun with the wrong parameters by the mill we had just started to work with, and laid in our storage room waiting for us to decide what to do, we made up our minds and decided to give it a chance!

The fibre content was far too precious to go to waste, and our hard work in making it as well; so, please welcome our TWISTY CHIC!

It has the same composition and yardage as A Chic Blend, but it was accidentally spun with more twist, so the fibres got denser and the whole body is more compact; as a result, it is also less hairy and seems thinner… but on the other hand it has a gorgeous stitch definition and color saturation.

We dyed eight new colorways, themed around nymphs, sorceresses and mythological figures that enchant people of all ages, as we also were really surprised and bewitched by the lightness and gloam yielded by this base.

Our TWISTY CHIC UPDATE will go live on Friday, July 24 @8.00pm CEST

Some details you may find useful:

Twisty Chic is made of:
60% Brogna wool
20% Italian alpaca
20% Italian mohair
Fingering (uk 4 ply) weight; skeins are 50g – 225m – Gauge: 10cm in 26 – 28 sts and 3,5mm needles
Please remember that each hand-dyed batch is fairly unique because we apply several layers of colors, to get the perfect deep hues of our range.

Plus, in next shop update you’ll find nearly all of our common bases on SALE!

What better occasion for the summer to make some space and clean our shelves, to make space for new batches that will arrive in autumn? It’s a chance to taste for instance A Pure and Simple Wool, a gorgeous sport weight that has been a bit discontinued in our shop so far, but will be back in September in huge quantities.

Please note that:
discount rates vary from one base to another, but prices are already set, you won’t need any coupon code.

Some shades have really limited quantities, so we composed a few bundles of matching colors and yarns, to help you in good stash-boosting.

The SUMMER SALE will also go live on Friday July 24 @8.00pm CEST

We’re delighted to share our collaboration with our dear friend Sara of La Cave à Laine!

To celebrate the release of Tavolozza, a cozy shawlette that Sara has designed with our yarns, we’ll have a special shop update with lots of bundles, that were to be brought to Woollin – Ireland’s Festival of Yarn this weekend.

The yarn required for this mindless, relaxing summer shawl consists of a full skein of A Heavenly Blend in undyed Avena Heathery Pearl and three minis of A Chic Blend in different combinations we chose from our hand dyed palette, including some shades of the From Home Collection.

The gorgeous kits will include yarn and a code to download the shawl pattern on Ravelry, plus you’ll be able to choose between a hand-sewn zippered pouch or a hand-dyed organic cotton tote bag that Sara prepared for this special collab.

We assembled many yarns + accessory options to cover a wide range of colors from bold to pastel, but please note that they’re all limited quantities, as we’ve composed for this occasion from hand-dyed yarn and handcrafted accessories.

Kits will go live on our web shop on Friday, June 12 at 6 p.m. CEST

This new club for spring is dedicated to that special inner space, where we hide sometimes while knitting, that state of mind when thoughts just flow adrift and make us feel somehow lifted and lightened.

As knitters before being yarnmakers, Giulia and I often search for beautiful yarns and accessories to build our private, personal imaginary room where we can linger knitting in tranquility.

Now, it’s is a bit difficult to describe our vision for this club, as we wish to evoke feelings and perceptions that are by definition very personal and evanescent; in fact, we mean to celebrate delicacy and mild thoughts, when we linger with our needles moving smoothly, and the world seems to be set aside.

We were somehow forced to stay home, and time to reflect and knit became much more frequent than usual, so we rediscovered the beauty and sense of peace that we held in our hands, and minds.

So, the lightness inherent in our very special fibre, Cashmere, is the core of this club. Our Heavenly Blend is hand dyed in a unique ethereal colourway that we created to exalt its fluffiness and let it pass to our souls. We really hope that the hues we decided to dye for this occasion will match also your concept of MIND WANDERER, of flying thoughts and lightened spirits

We worked with two talented Italian artisans to create the right accessories to match both the yarn and our ideas, and we’re so happy with this collaboration!

Again, we created a bundle of evocative, charming and always useful handcrafted pieces, that, we hope, will bring some sheerness to your thoughts and knits

Please make note of a few useful bits of information about the club:

– Subscriptions will be listed in our online shop from May 22, 8 p.m. CEST

– Subscriptions will be open until May 31, unless they sell out before

– Subscriptions consist of only one shipment of the entire bundle that will be scheduled in early June

– As in previoous editions, we decided to list only a limited quantity of bundles, because they are handcrafted especially for this event and all unique

– Each club bundle will include 150g (three full skeins) of our most precious and beloved fingering yarn, a blend of Italian wool, Cashmere and alpaca in their natural grey and fawn hues, that is hand dyed exclusively for the club, and two different accessories, curated by our lovely partners Marcella of Latuamomis and Carla of Laboratorio Indie.

This month’s update is going to celebrate our love for knitting and yarn, which are keeping us sane in these weird times while we’re staying home.

We decided to dedicate this little event to a couple of patterns that have bloomed out of our needles, and that we wanted to share as a source of inspiration for you to enjoy, too… together with a very special yarn edition.

We thought that our confinement had to turn out as creative as possible, and went for some “blind dyeing”… which means we created three brand new colorways in our respective home studios. Without saying a word about them to each other, we proceeded to just focus on what we saw from our windows and how we felt in the past weeks…

We came out with six subtly variegated shades that are unexpectedly awesome together, and charmingly mirror our feelings, thoughts and surroundings.

This shop update is set for Thursday, April 30 at 7 p.m. CEST.

We put in the shop a good bunch of the new A Chic Blend From Home shades, which are a Limited Edition release at the moment. Plus, we added a stock of all our bases for you to mix, match and create, whether it be a pattern of your choice or one of our latest finished ones.

First is the lovely Udo sweater by Orlane Sucche that was to be released featuring our yarns for Knit Eat festival in Lyon, but of course the show was cancelled… So, let’s turn this sad situation in a gorgeous release for this gentle colorwork pullover, perfect for spring (please note that the pattern goes live on Ravelry at the same time of our update!).

The other pattern we knitted with so much joy is the Satellite shawl by Andrea Mowry that we loved at first sight, a simple yet effective colorful construction that becomes a warm and lightweight hug around your shoulders, knitted in our luscious bases.

And by coincidence, both patterns use all our fingering yarn bases, so the limit is just your fantasy in combining them!

A Heavenly Blend is made of:
50% Aquilana wool
25% Italian alpaca
25% Italian Cashmere

A Chic Blend is made of:
60% Brogna wool
20% Italian alpaca
20% Italian mohair

A Stormy Blend is made of:
70% Brogna wool
30% Italian alpaca, in black, grey or fawn natural hue

Please remember that each hand dyed batch is fairly unique because we apply several layers of colors, to get the perfect deep hues of our range.

This month’s update is dedicated to the very first blend we created starting our small company. A Chic Blend now has 17 intense and bright hand dyed semisolid shades, and they will all be listed to be mixed and matched, perfect for your colorwork pleasure.

We conceived this yarn and its vibrant colors to be used in striking stranded knitting and more subtly in combination with our undyed grey shades of the Stormy Blend.

What’s better than a special pattern release dedicated by Isabell Kraemer to these yarns? She is planning to release her Gianluca sweater on Ravelry on Friday, March 20, and a Lanivendole shop update is set for the same day at 6.00pm CEST

In this tragic situation, we are having problems due to shows postponed and wholesale orders put on hold, but still we want be active during this wait, and believe it’s important to bring our woolly pleasures to you, knitters and crocheters around the globe, to stay connected and positive together.

We thank from the bottom of our hearts anybody who’ll support our small business.

You’ll find all yarns available as ready to ship, unless they go sold out, and will then be dyed on order, don’t worry!

According to current COVID-19 situation, we are working with national post service to be able to ship safely all parcels through Registered Mail service, in order to avoid as much as possible that items are lost on their way. You’ll have the possibility to ship with an express courier service as well, and in that case we’ll update you in case some companies stop/delay their services, and we’ll sort it out together!

A Heavenly Update is going to be our first Shop Update of 2020, and as the name says, it is dedicated to our luscious Cashmere yarn.

A Heavenly Blend is the heart of our yarn range, not only because it contains Giulia’s own homegrown cashmere fibre, but also because setting up her goat farm was the reason why we met a few years ago during a handspinning workshops, and that was the turning point to set up our small business in exclusive, traceable Italian yarn.

Shop update is set for SATURDAY February 1, at 6.00pm CEST

We put in the shop our full range of A Heavenly Blend hand-dyed palette, with two new colorways: ZAFFERANO — a deep dark caramel — and SCIROCCO — a cold slate blue. The undyed base is a light beige-grey that yields very peculiar shades once dyed. Each batch is fairly unique because we apply several layers of colors, to get the perfect deep hues of our range.

Icing on the cake, we dedicate this update to some new speckled and variegated variations overdyed on some of our shades:

The cold lilac base of VIOLETTE turned into LUNA, with sparkles of ochre and deep fuchsia.

The elegant peachy AMARETTI became TITANIA which is dotted of dark teal greens and burnt orange.

The watery ACQUAMARINA was enlightened with rusty yellows and vibrant pinks and purples, developing into CORALLI

A Heavenly Blend is made of:
50% Aquilana wool
25% Italian alpaca
25% Italian Cashmere
Fingering (UK 4-ply) weight with 50g – 225m
Gauge: 10cm in 24-26 sts and 3,5mm needles

Our new yarn club, BY THE SEA, was conceived to create a special treat for knitters and makers alike to celebrate our Italian yarns and the talented handwork of some Italian artisans we fell in love with, to compose a bundle of exclusive accessories, curated for this occasion, so that each one is unique and unrepeatable.

The theme refers to a song that we happened to love, By The Sea by Morcheeba: a gentle rhythm that takes you to a perfect moment walking on a pier, staring at the quiet life occurring around.

We thought to celebrate these feelings of freedom and wilderness, believing that perhaps life’d be easier somehow if we all let go that way; the sea simply evokes this for us, with its endless movement, sometimes calm and soothing, some other rough and scary, but always immense to watch and breathe.

We’ll be dyeing inspired by this environment, and the colorway will be exclusive for the club, so try to imagine all the little treasures that you may find on the beach after a storm… try to imagine that peculiar salty smell in the air… try to feel your feet creating crimpy footprints strolling up and down the shore…

We searched for artisans that could exalt these ideas in their artwork, keeping in mind that our aim is to insert accessories that could be awesome, of course, but also handy of course.

Please make note of a few useful information about the CLUB:
– Subscriptions will be listed in our Webshop from DECEMBER 20, 17.00 CEST (that’s 10 a.m. Eastern)
– Subscriptions will be open until JANUARY 20, unless they are sold out before; shipping will be scheduled in early February.
– We decided to list only a limited quantity of bundles, because they are handcrafted especially for this event and all unique.
– Each club box will include 200g of our new woollen yarn, a blend of Italian Wool and Alpaca in their natural grey hues, hand dyed exclusively for the club, and two different accessories, curated by our lovely partners Marianna of @isewsoidontkillpeople and Alice & Eleonora of @last_one_stones
