Bewitched Pigments is proud to sponsor the June Virtu-Wool Fiber Festival being presented on Facebook. We will present 19 other vendors throughout both Saturday and Sunday, June 13-14, 2020 with a new vendor starting a 45-minute live video showcasing their fiber related products with a new presenter beginning on the hour each hour from 10 a.m. EDT until 8 p.m. EDT.

Vendors will present a wide array of products including bare and hand-dyed yarns, yarn bowls and boxes, shawl pins, buttons, bags, stitch markers, patterns and fiber tools!

Bewitched Pigments will be the final presenter rounding everything out with a special announcement at the end of their live video. The Virtu-Wool Fiber Festival is an inclusive and welcoming event and we hope you will all join us throughout the weekend.

Come experience a new kind of fiber show, one that comes straight to your house! Introducing the inaugural Virtu-Wool Fiber Festival, a live streaming show featuring 20 vendors from all over the United States. As fiber festivals and shows are canceled due to the pandemic, vendors are looking for new and creative ways to still interact with fiber enthusiasts. This two-day event will run Saturday, May 2nd and Sunday May 3rd from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. EDT each day. Every hour on the hour, our vendors will be presenting their hand-dyed fibers, yarns, patterns, bags and stitch markers, as well as tips and tricks and demonstrations.

Follow the @virtuwoolfiberfestival on Instagram, then check out the Virtu-Wool Fiber Festival Event Page on Facebook and click Interested so you can stay up to date, and see the new livestreams as they pop up!

The Kings County Fiber Festival is an outdoor market for the fiber enthusiast! The setting is the historic Old Stone House of Brooklyn, located in picturesque Park Slope, on Saturday, October 12th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Aside from a variety of indie vendors — including dyers, felters, knitters, crocheters, quilters, spinners and weavers — the event will feature a talk and exhibit by crochet artist Nacinimod Deodee, moderated by textile developer Sahara Briscoe of Super String Theory Design.

We will also be collecting donations of handmade hats for the homeless.

Summer is upon us and the lambing season is finally done. If you are looking for a lightweight yarn to knit with this summer, our hand-dyed wool, linen and silk blend is perfect. I just finished Wave by Kristen Finlay with our wool, linen and silk blend and it knit up beautifully.

We are participating in the Save Em to Save Em Campaign and we have raw Shetland and Leicester Longwool as well as Leicester Longwool yarn. We will have Shetland yarn for the fall festival season.

If you are in the Dover, Pennsylvania area, give us a call and stop by and see the farm, our baby lambs, all the sheep and the shop, located on the farm.

You might not know it where you are, but things are hopping in the middle of Nebraska at BaaBerry Farms. Debi, the owner and shepherdess is also the brains behind the shop, which primarily specializes in project bags and hand-dyed yarn.

Debi designs her project bags from a process of creating the ultimate bag. They are unique and highly functional. For example, her Uptown Bags are a medium-large wedge shaped bag that is fully lined and has interior pockets and wrist straps. They are sized generously for medium to larger projects, too! I have one and it quickly became one of my favorite bags. Debi also has an eye for fun and unusual fabrics!

Most of Debi’s yarns are mill spun from her flock and then hand dyed by her. She has also just launched a new line of worsted weight sock kits! Each kit includes a skein of yarn and a coordinating mini. These will make fun house socks! I have been working with her angora merino blend yarn and it is so soft and warm.

Here at Knit Collage, we create unique yarns to inspire your creativity and to get your needles humming! Most of our yarns are handspun with the exception of our Wildflower yarn that is made from fabric. Some of our yarns are chock full of trims, like flowers and ribbons and others are simply spun into interesting textures with fun colors. Check our our winter yarn favorites and wide ranging selection of patterns to go along with them too!

Happy Thanksgiving, everybody! I’m doing a super sale from now through Cyber Monday. When you buy three skeins of yarn or art batts, or a combination of both, you’ll get one for free. You don’t even need a coupon code. Just add four items to your cart and one will be free!!!

I’m also having a “secret sale” for newsletter subscribers only, with something different each day between Black Friday and Cyber Monday. I’ll be sending out the email to all my subscribers on Thursday evening, so if you subscribe before then, you’ll get to learn about the secret sales too.

Thanks for looking!

We aren’t just celebrating Small Business Saturday — we celebrate small businesses every day! If you want to get a complete list of all the deals to be found, just let me know.

In the meantime, let me tempt you with highlights from a few of our shops! Pictured above, in order.

Named after Marissa’s first bunny, The Spun Bunny specializes in beautiful handdyed yarn and fiber that come in a variety of fibers, bases and preparations. A beautiful selection from her studio in PA!

Several of our shops have AMAZING variety. Pixie Knit Designs is one of them. Based in NC, Tammie has handspun yarn, stitch markers and fiber for spinning.

Donna, based in NJ, owns LunaStitch which is another varied shop. She makes high quality project bags, has beautiful magnetic shawl pins (no holes!) and tools (fabulous stocking stuffers!)

The proprietress of My Grandma’s Garden is Lori of IL and she plays with clay. She has unique tools, buttons and stitch markers in her shop. She also has yarn keepers, handspun yarn and more! Well worth a look.

If you are part of any fandom, check out The Artful Princess! Sarah is based in GA and offers a large collection of exquisitely made project bags and stitch markers.

Serenity Artisans is the place to go for a luxury gift. Sue handcrafts stunning yarn bowls in PA from a variety of woods. These are an elegant example of functional art for fiber crafters.

With the changes in the marketplace, plenty of new indie shops have been opening on FiberCrafty. This means lots of gorgeous new listings and product options! Scroll through and just browse or use our filters to search for breed specific yarn or fiber, a yarn weight for that project you have been eyeing or if you just want something in purple.

Posted pictures correspond to the shops listed below!

Pen & Hook is one of our newer shops and has a really unique product line of hand dyed sari silk. It’s available in 12 colors and varying lengths. Just imagine all the unique ways this could be used from adding textured stripes, to a gorgeous statement cowl to wrapping gifts or creating jewelry. Lisa also has beautifully hand-dyed silk yarn listings.

The Spun Bunny shop has a variety of yarn in different fibers (yak, silk, Cashmere and more!) and weights (from lace to worsted), as well as different types of spinning fiber that range in preparations like braids, rolags, and silk brick. Marissa’s love of color really shows!

One of my favorite things about the APLCrafts Handmade shop is that many of the yarns can be used beautifully together. Alicia also offers great suggestions for coordinating yarns in each listing. She doesn’t always repeat her colorways so if you see something you like, don’t wait around.

Sharon mostly has yarn but also offers some fiber in her CabinWool shop as well. She uses a range of yarn bases including corriedale and has some really beautiful variegated options. Check out her beautiful “Kissin Cousins” sets – two coordinating skeins that can be purchased individually as well.

LizaDeeOriginals is another newer shop and each time I see one of her listings for yarn or fiber, it takes my breath away! Bobbie’s dye technique is unique and she also has some true, gradual color gradients.

Jacqui of Lowlander Yarn Studio has just started adding listings to her shop and she offers a luxurious yarn base that is perfect for shawls! It is a blend of BFL, silk and cashmere available in multiple tonal colors, inspired by nature.
