Lyrical Knits follows up their Fold in the Cheese hat pattern with a second Schitt’s Creek themed design: A sweater pattern called The JazzaGal. Worked from the top down, it features 3/4 sleeves and a round yoke with a cascading, teardrop lace pattern. Sized to fit anywhere from a 29″-64″ bust, it’s knit with a strand of fingering yarn held together with a strand of laceweight mohair. Not into mohair? It works nicely with a heavy DK/light worsted yarn as well.

Je Laine Yarns is a small batch indie-dyed yarn venture. We’re not new to the scene but new to online sales platforms. The pandemic has shifted our in-person-shows-only approach to the development and launch of an online shop.

We carry a wide selection of luxury bases, the most popular being Bella, a luxurious single ply comprised of Merino, Cashmere and silk. It knits up like a dream, has a gorgeous drap and an exquisite shine. Pure DK is another favorite, a DK non-Superwash extrafine Merino that’s incredibly soft and plumpy enough to use as a worsted-weight yarn.

Colours are rich and saturated, our dye techniques are comprehensive and include a multitude of layers, resulting in colourways and knits that are rich and unique.

Happy January 2022!!!

A new year deserves a new project, and the newest design by Eve Noelle Hildebrandt of Holly Dyeworks is the perfect knit to start in 2022! Eden is a gradient cowl that is inspired by the Garden of Eden, and beauty of creation.

Eden is a quick and easy project to throw on your needles! It is knitted holding two strands of sock/fingering weight yarn to get a DK gauge, but you can certainly trade that out for actual DK yarn if desired. The sample above is done in the Eat, Drink, and Be Merry Mini Skein Set from Holly Dyeworks, which is a beautiful fade of oranges to greens. The cowl can be knitted knitted long or short using 12 or six mini skeins.

Happy first Friday of the year!

I hope you had a lovely first week and already got to plan or even start a new crafting project!

Personally I am working on a wonderful Corriedale fleece that I wash, pick, comb/card, dye and spin for the shop (I sell hand-dyed and handspun yarns as well as hand-dyed fibers).

I started the new year in the spirit of “out with the old, in with the new!”

This means there is a clearance sale going on at Fiberdog Fibers. I have a special clearance section that will take you to all the products that are currently on sale. It is a LOT of them, so make sure to check it out!

For the new part, I’ve just added new fibers for spinning to the shop. They are called Purple Clouds and you can see them in the picture. They are a wool (Corriedale)/bamboo blend and so soft. I basically want to pet them every time I walk past them.

All my products are made with love by me for you, my fellow fiber crafty people.

The Classics Collection

As we revealed our advent colors this season we had so many requests for full sized skeins that we picked 12 of our favorite colors for a spontaneous new collection. It’s not hard to see why they were such a hit – they’re based on some truly stunning book covers from the Chiltern Classics. Each colorway is inspired by the cover of a classic novel and is named accordingly. Friday January 7th at 3pm Eastern we’re opening up a small batch of pre-orders for these gorgeous colorways on some of our most popular bases. Posh Sock, Posh DK (both Merino/Cashmere/nylon blends), Fluff (mohair/silk) and Classic Sport and Worsted (100% SW Merino).

The colorways are Dracula, Jane Eyre, Persuasion, Wuthering Heights, The Secret Garden, Little Women, Madame Bovary, A Tale of Two Cities, Frankenstein, Treasure Island and Tess of the D’Urbervilles. We’re also launching our new Posh DK Halves with this collection – sets of 50g DK-weight mini skeins. These would be perfect for Wool & Pine’s new Sea Glass Sweater pattern coming out soon!
