We can't wait to share our take on a Mystery Yarn Advent kit with you! This year's theme is Holiday Mix Tape, and it's all inspired by our family's favorite holiday music. Turning on the holiday music while we decorate, wrap gifts, bake cookies, and spend time together is a huge part of the season for us and I want to share some of that with you. Each colorway is inspired by a different holiday tune, and the entire box vibe is inspired by those mix tapes I used to make in years past.

Hi Everyone! My name is Maureen and I am the owner and dyer of Charming Ewe Hand Dyed Yarns located in Texas. I am a new business and am excited to be part of the fiber community! I’ve been a knitter for a very long time and just recently learned Tunisian Crochet. I love all things yarn, notions and bags and everything in between!

At Charming Ewe, my is goal is to create beautiful yarns that inspire and add joy to your knitting and crochet projects. From tonals and solids to speckled and variegated yarns, and bases from fingering through worsted, there is something for everyone!

These are some of the fall colors I have listed in my shop along with a host of other solids/tonals and speckled yarns. I am adding new colors about every week, sometimes more often and sometimes less and post updates on Instagram. I offer both 50g and 100g skeins and Sock Sets. I would love your feedback on whether you’d like to see the fall colors or any color collection in the future offered in a 50g or mini set collection with solid colors mixed in! My goal is to stock yarn and make them readily available on my site so I can get them to you as quickly as I can. When I don’t have stock, everything is dye to order and my turnaround time is usually 2 days to a week. I am also happy to dye sweater quantities!

Visit CharmingEwe.com today to find something you love for your next project. And if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me from the Contact Us page!

I am happy to be able to present one of my favorite designs to date. The Paradisia shawl.

About the shawl:

Paradisia is a different shawl with a sagittal shape inspired by the trees’ roots and the leaves’ veins. When I designed Paradisia, I wanted to create a shawl with a fantastic and romantic essence that you can wear in many ways. Knitted in sections of garter stitch and stripes and short rows, it is perfect for knitting effortlessly but keeping your concentration on your knitting.

Notes on construction:

It is knitted from the bottom to the top creating increases on both sides and a double decrease in the center to form a spine. In the middle of the shawl, we divide it into two tongues made up of sections of short turns with which we close the garment.

You can find the pattern on my website and also in my Ravelry store. Also, I remind you that if you are part of my Patreon in Tier Fingering, you will receive all my patterns every time I publish them.

Happy Knitting!

Why should the kids have all the fun? Let’s Trick-or-Treat for Yarn!

Last year, I wanted to do something fun for grownups too, and it was such a hit that I’m bringing it back! I’m offering a special Trick-or-Treat Mystery Bag so you can trick or treat yo’self.

Here’s what you can look forward to:
You’ll get one full skein of mystery yarn. You can choose the weight you prefer or embrace the fun and let me surprise you. Each skein comes with a fun “Trick-or-Treat” Surprise just from me. Shhh… it’s a secret! I’ll also throw a special prize into every seventh one ordered, so maybe you’ll be one of the lucky recipients! Each Trick-or-Treat Bag is packaged separately, so feel free to add as many as you’d like to your cart. You can get one or two for yourself, one for a friend… whatever you’d like! You could even hedge your bets and order seven, so you’ll be guaranteed an extra prize. Plus, these are a great deal on a full skein of yarn, even without the extra goodie, so grab one while you can!

Feel free to leave me a note when you check out with a little direction to help me choose your colorway. That adds to the fun on my end, and helps you get something you’re going to LOVE! (Here of some examples of great hints: I love green, prefer brights, not a fan of pink, etc) I cannot fulfill requests for specific colorways or guarantee an exact match to your hints, but I’ll definitely do the best I can. You know I want to make you guys happy! I’m so excited to send out some special mystery packages so my customers can feel like kiddos on… well, on Halloween! ????

These will be offered while supplies last, and fulfilled in the order they are received. The earlier your order, the better I’ll be able to find the perfect match for you. Trick-or-Treat Bags begin shipping Oct. 5th, so be sure to treat yo’self! Find Trick-or-Treat Mystery Bags in the Clubs and Kits section of the website.

Hello fellow fiber crafters!

We all know and love the bright colors that can be achieved by dyeing white fibers. However, sheep (and other fiber animals) come in a variety colors! And if you follow me at all, you know that I love to work with non-white fleeces!

So in today’s post I will be celebrating some of my products (both handspun yarn and fibers) that use non-white fleeces!

The two group pictures of multiple colorways actually used two different fleeces: the darker one is from a mostly black/dark gray Romeldale/CVM fleece, while the more colorful one is from a light brown Romney fleece.

As always I washed, picked, carded, dyed and spun everything myself and I just love how the natural color of the wool enhances the dye. It is just so much fun to work with!

And sometimes I don’t even dye the wool at all and just let the natural color be the star of the show!

So if you want to check out my yarns and fibers, make sure to visit my website!

And while you are there:
At the top right corner you will find a button to become a fiber pack member (= a subscriber to my newsletter).
Being a fiber pack member comes with some great advantages: not only will you get notified about shop updates and get fiber craft related links to fun patterns and articles, you will also receive monthly discount codes!
And the September one is a huge 20% off!

So become a fiber pack member, snatch that discount and then shop to your heart’s content!

As always, enjoy your crafts,
Nat

Have you picked through your yarn stash recently and wondered, “Where did ALL this yarn come from? Surely I didn’t purchase ALL of this…”

Well, the culprit has been captured: It’s the Stashmonster! Stashmonster flies between yarn lovers’ homes trading skeins and multiplying your stash when you’re not looking. (PHEW! …and this whole time we thought we made all those purchases? Wow.)

Pop this enamel pin onto your favorite yarn project bag, jacket, or bulletin board to share the story that Stashmonster is out there. At just $10 each, he also makes a great gift for all your fiber friends.

I’m back from a string of fall trunk shows and my website has been updated with all of my inventory, including an abundance of one-of-a-kind tonals (OOAK). It’s for that reason that I am running a flash sale on all my “Turpentine OOAK” colors!

Starting today and running until I am low, all of my yarns labeled “Turpentine” are $15, down from their usual $22. There are several bases and color options available to fit any need!

What is “Turpentine?” Well, every time I dye my variegated yarns I have a ton of runoff at the bottom of my pan. Instead of dumping this down the drain, I pour it all into a pot, throw a few skeins in and see what comes out! The result is usually a muddled masterpiece of whatever I was dyeing that day, with small speckles and breaks of random colors.

Once a color is gone, it won’t be back, so grab it while you can!

Papirus, my latest pattern, is a classic triangle shawl, perfect to envelop you during the chilly days of winter. It is the perfect Netflix knit, as you don’t have to count too often or concentrate too much: the lace is easy to remember and the stockinette bands provide the right amount of relaxation.

From September 15th, ALL my patterns are discounted throughout the weekend, to celebrate my birthday! You get a special discount (alongside my newsletter subscribers), higher than the general public! With code HBSARA47 at checkout you will receive 47% off on all my patterns, so this is the time to cast on something fun!

How it started… I just wanted to knit a Stripes! Sweater by Andrea Mowry. I started pulling colors from the wall of yarn and even though pulling nine skeins for a sweater is no big deal – plenty more where that came from! it was bugging me just a little. And the gears started turning.

‘Tis the season of colorwork sweaters, gift knitting and all the accessories. I know I’m not the only one who has looked at a pattern and was a bit put off by having to buy full skeins knowing I’d only use half… or less. Coincidentally, I had some 50-gram skeins of my Neptune DK base on hand, left over from a special project and the next thing you know, 15 colors were dyed and added to my shop.

It’s the same 100% Merino Superwash wool as my regular Neptune skeins, in 116-yard/50-gram skeins, so you can mix and match with the 100-gram skeins. Half the yardage and half the price. Let your color impulses go wild!

In other news, I’m starting to add new fall colors to the shop every few days. New favorites in Rambler and Rocky Road which both pair up with the warm, cozy goodness of Honeycomb.
