There are days this time of year when tending all the dye pots feels untenable. Longing for an air-conditioned studio, but not willing to pack it up and find a cool lake to jump in, I’ve been using my time dyeing up some new offerings. No surprise I’ve created some of my hottest colors to date!

I’m just loving my Fire Festival fade set on Harbour Singles fingering which includes one full skein each of Tutti Fruitti, Marigolds and Saffron, Tropicale & Heat Wave (also available for individual sale). I liked it so much I added a set of five mini skeins. And since I couldn’t stop there, I added a fifth stand-alone color on Harbour, Confetti, the lightest of the bunch with just a hint of warm and cool yellow and magenta speckles.

Taking things in a much cooler direction, I’ve added a few new fade sets on Deep Sock-Klimtomania, inspired by one of my favorite paintings, Miss Emelie Floge by Gustav Klimt, and The Age of Ore built around one of my oldest and most beloved colors, A Knight In Tarnished Armour.

I’ve restocked a few of my other fade sets, including Deep Waters. Maybe that one will cool us all down!

A fuzzy leg warmer pattern in July?! Yes, I figure if you start knitting it now it will be done in plenty of time for it to actually be chilly enough to wear them! Save 10% now through July 20th, 2021 to celebrate the release!

Get retro and knit up some extremely cozy and totally ’80s-tastic legwarmers! Mohair held double with sock yarn makes these fuzzy legwarmers hold in a lot of warmth so you can skate on without getting cold ankles. Pick a self-striping yarn for a bit of extra colorful fun. This pattern features customizable calf shaping for the best fitting legwarmers that can be scrunched up if desired or can be worn up on the calves so they won’t fall down. They look absolutely adorable over some cute boots! The name of the pattern is inspired by one of all time favorite anime films, Yuri on Ice!, which is also the inspiration for the self-striping yarn color I used.

These legwarmers are knit from the bottom up in the round. The legwarmers are sized based off the ankle circumference and calf circumference. Pattern includes instructions for both slimmer and wider calves.

July is turning into a busy month for Liverpool Yarns: we’ve just received boxes of skeins of our new colors and have been working hard to get them all on the website. Our soft, 100% Shetland yarn is available in a range of subtle natural greys and browns as well as vibrant and soft hues. The worsted-spun fingering-weight is perfect for sweaters and shawls (think colorwork and texture), and new designs and samples are on the needles in our workroom.

Visit our website to see all our yarns, kits and yarn packs; sign up for our newsletter to stay updated on fiber shows and the latest news; and stay cool! Thank you for supporting small, independent craft businesses.

July is turning into a busy month here in Alta, Wyoming, but it’s never too busy for knitting!

I have two new shawl kits up on the website and they’re both on sale through the 14th.

The first is Susanne Visch’s lovely Strawberry Finch Shawl. This is an elegant, top down triangular shaped shawl which also happens to be a one skein wonder. Sophia is WayfaringYarns superkid silk lace weight yarn. The mohair is called superkid because it is the fiber from the first shearing of the mohair goat. Incredibly soft and delicate! This yarn is absolutely perfect for this delicate lace shawl. The kit is on sale for $30 and is available in four colors.

The second new shawl kit is the Lilacs and Marigolds shawl. The pattern is by Helaina of Chic and Regal Knits. It’s a lovely crescent shaped shaw with a beautiful slip stitch design that’s easy enough for beginners and interesting enough for more advanced knitters. This shawl kit is also on sale and comes in four contracting color sets. The finished shawl will transition perfectly from sommer to fall.

Instead of our usual 24 Mini + 1 skein advent we are switching it up (mostly because I don’t know what to do with minis anymore)!

Dark Academia Yarn Count Down is a 5-skein box: 1 Skein per week of the month of December and 1 Skein because Yes.

Tea Time Mystery Club will be inspired by beautiful antique to modern day cups/mugs. This is a “no strings attached” club, so it’s a month-to-month preorder, not a subscription.
Each month, we will pick a tea cup/mug and dye the yarn to match the cup. There are a few extras of May Tea Time (pictured above) on our sock base.

Please send us a picture of your favorite tea cup/mug or coffee mug and the cup that is chosen for that month receives a FREE skein of that color to match their special mug!!! Send it to [email protected]
