When I moved back to New York, a goal of mine was to find or create a base that is locally sourced and milled. This past spring I was presented with the opportunity to do just that, and thus Sojourner Sock was born. I worked with Battenkill Fibers to come up with this beautiful non-Superwash base. It is a 3-ply yarn that is made from 60% U.S.-sourced Merino wool 30% locally-sourced Romney, and 10% nylon.

Sojourner Sock will be listed in the shop Friday, 8/30 at 6 p.m. EST.

Hi everyone!

I’ve been busy harvesting dye plants the last few weeks, enjoying these beautiful late days of summer… marigolds, goldenrod, lichens, tansy, and a couple of varieties of berries are now drying in preparation for use over the coming winter months. As I clean out last year’s leftover bits and pieces from my dye cabinet making room for this year’s harvest, I realize that I need to do the same with some of my yarn. I am planning new colourways and will be introducing a new yarn base (or two) later this fall… so I need to make some room on my shelves!

It’s time to dust off your needles and favorite fall pattern because I am offering 25% off selected SYC yarns. Pop over to the website and use promo code AUTUMN25 at checkout to get your hands on some naturally dyed, pure wool yarns for your next project.

Sale starts Friday, August 30 — while quantities last.
Sale includes the Auchentoshan, Cumulus, Hygge, and Conscious bases.

Hope you all enjoy the last few weeks of summer…

Best,
Seathra

Hello and Happy End of Summer! I took a long vacay this summer up to my lake cabin in the beautiful Adirondacks – it was so peaceful. And it was a big adjustment back to dyeing and business. But I am super excited to be back — it was such a long break that I actually missed my business — but that is because I love what I do!

I did do some work while on vacation — I created a whole new website for Pancake and Lulu! I learned a ton and am so excited to introduce the new site this week. I know it is not perfect but it is live (I just had to go for it, despite my tendency toward striving for perfection — I’m a Virgo ????). Please go check out www.pancakeandlulu.com and let me know how you like it and if you have any suggestions to improve it or notice anything really wonky.

For my friends at Indie Untangled, I have a special offer: use the code INDIEFRIEND and get 20% off any orders placed through my new site. This offer is good through 9/2/19.

Since I have been back to work, I have created some gorgeous color collections for the end of summer and early fall. I am highlighting these here. These are made to order and available on any base — full and minis. Pictured are: Pop Leaves, Squirrel Jam and It’s Always Sunny.

During the summer, I had ample time to knit. My three big projects while on vacation were Drea Renee Knits’ Comfort Fade Cardi (just finished it but no FO pictures yet), Boyland Knitwork’s Sipila and Moon Sisters Shawl — both still in progress. Hopefully they will be done by Rhinebeck! I have a kit for the Moon Sisters Shawl available in my shop, available in both the original shades and my wild violet/lime version.

That’s about it for now. I’m super excited to be a vendor at The Indie Untangled Trunk Show this October and I am busily prepping for that — more on that next time.

xx, Aimee at PLYarn

It’s no secret that I love to design with, knit and wear lace.

I also like to plan ahead. So, with holiday knitting season beginning, we’ll help you do that too with this excellent offer!

Our Botanical Scarf Yarn Pack comes with three balls of elegant White Lies Designs 100% Cashmere in the three colors shown here AND our e-book “The Botanical Scarf Collection,” which contains patterns for lovely foliage themed scarves.

Cashmere is the definitive fiber for these lovely little pleasures and the traditional lace stitch patterns included in our e-book were chosen to give the knitter three progressively more skilled motifs, so you’ll build your lace knitting skills as well as create some wonderful gifts!

Not only that, patterns are written out AND charted using the Stitch-Maps system created by JC Briar (this is a wonderful new take on grid-less knitting charts that is especially helpful for those who “just don’t get” knitting with charts).

Get the e-book and three divine balls of squishy, soft Cashmere goodness (a $108 value) for just $78! This offer is good until 9/3.

Psst… While you’re visiting our site, have a look at our pretty shawl pins, too!

Autumn is right around the corner and we’re seeing so many beautiful designs emerging just in time to craft that special Rhinebeck project. Lots of new things are happening here to keep up!

First, have you seen the brand new design by the very talented Tyne Swedish?! The Trelawney Shawl is a gorgeous large triangular knit, striped shawl using just two skeins of sock yarn, and we just happen to have kits ready to ship! Just in time, too, because she is hosting the #TrelawneyShawlKAL which runs from August 30th through September 30th.

Kits are limited, so act fast!

We’ve also added two new colorways to the shop this week. High Tide is a lovely variegated blue and sandy brown inspired my the moon’s influence over the seas. I just love the relationship between the two and was eager to capture that in a colorway.

OOAK Leaf Pile is a tonal brown speckled with golds, yellows, oranges, and warm browns, just like jumping into a giant pile of leaves.

Finally, we’ve decided to add one more day to the Spooky Holiday “Advent” Calendar pre-orders at the request of some. There are still a few spots left, so if you had your eye on this kit, there is still time to grab it. These Spooky Holiday Calendars are inspired by all that is creepy and unsettling during the holiday season. There will be some very unique colorways coming!

Hope you can stop by the shop soon!
