As the year winds down and we start to think about cozying up on the sofa with a new WIP, I’m thrilled share the WoolNeedleThread Holiday Collection with you! It’s a capsule collection of sweet winter-themed project bags, stitch markers, and handbags celebrating short days and winter joy. I hope they’ll add a touch of magic to your holiday crafting.

Why Choose a WoolNeedleThread Project Bag?

-Handcrafted Elegance: Each bag is one of a kind and meticulously handmade with love and attention to detail. Many of the holiday bags feature a bit of sparkly hand beading to brighten the darkest winter days.

-Festive Designs: Embrace the holiday spirit with our exclusive festive designs. Among the fabrics I’ve chosen are hard-to-find prints imported from Germany with gorgeously illustrated winter motifs.

-Practical and Gorgeous: I design my bags to be functional as well as beautiful. All have interior pockets, waxed bases, and handy rings for your small tools and stitch markers.

Don’t miss out this holiday season. Amy’s Trinket shop is filled with great gifts for fiber artists. Yarn, stitch marker sets, stitch stoppers galore, project bags, and moth deterrent linen sprays are just a sampling of some of the goodies you can find for sale. Shop for yourself, a loved one, or a friend; there is something for everyone. We look forward to shipping your order next business day and pride ourselves on excellent customer service. Custom orders encouraged and happily accepted. (Shipping on custom orders will vary depending on the details of the order.) Don’t wait, check out Amy’s Trinket Shop today.

We have added four new winter colors to the shop as well as three NEW organic (non-Superwash) bases! They are each made of extra fine Merino. Every skein is squishy and so soft that you probably won’t believe it is non-Superwash. Each has beautiful stitch definition and will hold it shape well. Everything is available in the Dyed to Order section of the Yarn Jam website. The new NSW bases will be 20% off through Dec. 8.

New colors are pictured (L toR): Fir, Spruce, Fig and Cedar.

We also have a holiday FREEBIE for you! A downloadable sheet of holiday tags. Customize them for the handmade gifts you’re giving this year. Print them at home and mark on the tag how to care for the item you’re gifting. The link to the download is on our homepage.

Happy Holidays All!!

If you’re still hoping to fit in a few handmade gifts this season, naturally-dyed Peaceful Worsted is your answer!

This heavy worsted/Aran-weight yarn works up quickly, and is perfect for colorwork hats, snuggly cowls, or a warm Elisbeth headband (one skein makes two headbands!).

Woolen-spun from soft American-grown Rambouillet and Texas mohair adds a dreamy halo. And the soft shades from natural dyes add an extra special touch. This lovely non-Superwash yarn is spun in the U.S. and naturally dyed in Ohio. Visit the Flora Adora Fibers website for more information and pattern suggestions.

I am sure many of us are working on holiday gifts or hurrying to knit those sweaters for the family photos! But I have a little something this week that may be a fun project for yourself. Or, team up with your LYS to kit up some yarn for your favorite knitting friend to gift them a new project.

The Spiced Cider scarf is so squishy and warm… I wore it all weekend as the temps dropped to below freezing here. It was perfect for standing outside with my pup Sophie as she did her business. ????

Spiced Cider is knit using Blue Sky Fibers Extra (you will need three hanks or 505 yards of Aran/heavy worsted-weight yarn) and a US 9/5.5 mm knitting needle. This scarf is filled with cables and they look a little complicated, however they are not (I promise)! There are tips to knit this without the cable needle, too. You can easily adjust to whatever length you wish (that will affect your total yardage, so keep that in mind). But this is a wonderful squishy scarf that is sure to please all those knitworthy people in your life!

Enjoy 15% off through November 30th — no codes needed!

Happy making, friends!

Isn’t it funny how something can begin as a seed of an idea and then can grow into something that becomes an intergal part of your life?

Last year, I turned to my husband and said, “You know that Mother’s Day box we did this year? I’d like to do MORE of those!”

It was just three boxes out of a whole year. We’d already done one, I thought for sure it’d be easy to just add two more…

Little did I know that those three boxes would become so central to my entire year.
They were the receptacle of all of my creative juices — every whim and desire.
They fed my soul to bursting as I planned every little thing, made dream boards, and currated until everything was a perfectly packaged gift.
They were the source of sleepless nights and aching muscles as we moved hundreds of boxes around our studio.
And they were the straw that broke the camel’s back and let us know that we DEFINITELY needed a bigger space.

But best of all, they created something that I never could have predicted.
A community of wonderful friends.

I am grateful for that most of all.

Thank you my dear friends for giving me such a beautiful year.
It was a gift.
For me as much as for you.

And I can’t wait to do it all again next year!!

All of the colorways in Wild Violet Fibers’ Into the Woods collection are now available and the corresponding Into the Woods Beanie pattern was just released on Ravelry.

The colorways in the collection are inspired by the seasonal change of the forest’s palette, from lush greens, to vibrant reds, oranges and yellows and, finally, to misty shades of grays and browns. The collection includes both semisolid and variegated colorways: September Grass, Secluded Glade, October Leaves, Lost in the Woods, November Rain and Through the Mist.

The design of the beanie is inspired by walks through the woods and makes a great accessory for autumn and winter hikes. The pattern as written includes a bit of slouch, but can easily be customized for a snugger fit. The beanie pattern includes sizes for youth, adult small, and adult large.

We’ve just done a massive update of our NeverMoor yarn base at Undercover Otter!

This amazing fingering-weight yarn base consists of 60% Exmoor Blueface — fleece from a crossbreed between Exmoor and a Bluefaced Leicester sheep that gives the yarn strength and shine, 20% Corriedale to add softness and 10% Devon Zwartbles — originally a Dutch/Frisian sheep breed that adds a springy bounce and an amazing heathered look to the overall yarn. For extra security, and to make this yarn perfect for all your sock knitting needs, as well as colorwork, 10% nylon is added to round out this yarn base.

NeverMoor is perfect for sturdy, warm garments without sacrificing any comfort. It can be used in colorwork that needs to last a while and blooms into a beautiful soft and sturdy yarn after blocking. The NeverMoor base is sourced and milled by the lovely people over at John Arbon Textiles and I’ve fallen head over heels for it. If you are looking for solids to go with our hand-dyed skeins, check out the Exmoor Sock section on the John Arbon website, since this is the same yarn base.
