Two Yarn Clubs to Swoon Over

We’ve opened up a handful of spots in our two yarn clubs:

Literature Society — A quarterly luxury yarn box inspired by classic literature. Each themed box comes with three skeins of yarn in new colorways and lots of fun fiber swag. Boxes also include a card with background information about the author and the novel. The lineup for 2023 is as follows, January: Pride and Prejudice, April: Far From the Madding Crowd, July: A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and October: The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. We use a variety of bases for this club, but you can choose to receive light bases (light fingering up to sport weight, mostly sock) heavy bases (sport up to bulky, mostly DK or worsted), or a mix of all the bases. In addition to a swoon-worthy package, each mailing also includes a Zoom book club meeting where we discuss the book, current WIPs and FOs, and play games with ridiculous prizes. We have a great time! We have annual pre-paid memberships, a you-pick-two option and quarterly subscriptions available. Fiber Gallery is our monthly yarn mailing inspired by great works of art. The inspiration for our 2023 colorways will come from the world’s largest museum collection — the Louvre. Each month we’ll host a vote on which painting/masterpiece to choose. Packages come with a card that includes background on the artist and the inspiration piece. It is such a fun way to learn a little art history each month. You can choose to receive light, heavy or a mix of bases and can also elect to receive a second skein or “double dose” each month if you prefer making larger projects. The chill is in the air and as the lights brighten our days, so does the yarn! NEW YARN: Meet Juniper!

This month we made two new additions to our lineup of undyed, naturally colored yarn! We introduced Mutton earlier this month. This post is about Juniper – a lovely dark brown yarn with violet undertones.

Juniper is a sport-weight yarn that gets its hue from a mix of Moorit Romney wool and carbonized bamboo, a plant fiber embedded with tiny carbon particles. Both bamboo and Romney wool are long-stapled fibers with little crimp. This gives Juniper great drape. The yarn has a medium feel that’s best for hats, gloves, and other outerwear.

The Winter Box, a January collection

January is a great time to cozy up by the fire with a hot drink to make something just for you.

The Winter Box will come in two sizes and will be packed with yummy Aurai Sock in beautiful colors selected just for this box. There are no patterns, but I’ll be writing you a note with a few ideas.

The regular will contain a whole skein of the neutral with six contrasting mini skeins. (959 yards).

The double dip will contain two skeins of the neutral color with 12 contrasting mini skeins (that’s 12 colors and 1,918 yards).

Indulgences are little extras from Oregon and maybe a little branded thing from me. I love the little extras from boxes, but I want to keep the price point on the regular box down. These are things I’m going to procure from Oregon makers and buy outright, not wholesale or anything, there’s minimal markup.

Additional neutral skeins are available for purchase in case you are planning a garment. Use Aurai for a fingering-weight sweater or, if you are planning to hold the winter box yarn doubled, I recommend the Icarus for a truly luxurious garment.

Preorders are orders received before the deadline of 12/5. All preorders are guaranteed to arrive by 1/22/2023 within the lower 48 of the United States and will NOT arrive before 1/1/2023. There is a PREORDER LIMIT of 10 slots.
