Hello all!

The very first annual spooky October “Advent” calendar preorder is coming to the shop tonight, Friday June 7th at 5 p.m. Eastern Time! I am so excited to be able to offer these this year. If you like my usual moody dyeing style and colorways, then you’ll LOVE the new ones that I’m brewing up for this set. It’s all a mystery of course, but I can tell you they will be spooky and EPIC. I’m pulling inspiration from all things creepy and unsettling – this is going to be so much fun!

Each calendar will include 30 mini skeins (92 yds/20g each) and one full-sized skein on our Tralala Sock base (75/25 SW Merino, nylon, 4 ply, 463 yds/100g) along with a few extra little goodies!

Preorder listings will be open until Saturday June 22nd at 11:59 p.m. (two weeks).

All calendars will be shipped no later than mid-September, but could ship much earlier.

Please see the small disclaimer on the product for additional circumstances, i.e. if this is a gift, or if you plan to order additional skeins.

I hope to see you in the shop!

Happy June from Pancake and Lulu Yarn, aka PLY! I love changing seasons and for us here on this half of the planet, summer has just about arrived.

For me knitting is always in season, and with summer, I feel like a fresh start is in order, so I am in a casting-on frenzy at the moment. This is due to finishing three sweaters in the last week! Here I am showing off my Soldotna Crop. It seemed like this was literally a “must knit” this spring, didn’t it? I have had some requests for kits, so they are coming to my shop soon.

Another little finished object is my Tincture Hat. I knit this up in three days as part of Andrea Mowry’s Memorial Day Shift-Along Challenge. It was a lot of fun participating in this tradition for the first time and I am very pleased with this quick knit. I will soon be stocking kits for this project as well.

Check out the delightful Yellow Owl Stitch Markers and Abacus Bracelets available in my shop. The glass beads are adorable as well as functional and totally snag-free!

Jade is my favorite new semi-solid color in my shop, available on any of my 18 full skein or five mini bases and Merino fiber for spinning or felting. It is a cool and refreshing green and perfect for colorwork and would make a pretty summer tee.

I want to thank all of you who have signed up for my 2019 Advent Mini Calendars. I have been blown away by all the early sign ups. There are still some pre-order slots available in my shop!

New June projects for me include another Caitlin Hunter pattern, Sipila, shown here with Navy as the main color and a one-of-a-kind sparkly club colorway as the contrasting color — join my yarn club for these exclusives! Other cast-ons: a Cocoknits shell top called Gretel and the new Ochre Cardigan by Ambah O’Brien. Follow along on my Instagram for daily updates on my projects kits and yarns. Enjoy the new season of knitting!

Our next update will take place at 8 a.m. on Friday, 7th June (UK time) and will consist of Carlisle Fingering in both full 100g skeins and 20g mini skeins. The update will include mini skein fade sets which are packs of five skeins, fading from one colourway to another. Also included are rainbow mini skein sets which, as you might guess, come as a set of seven and you have a choice of a Jewel Rainbow set, in which the colours are deep and saturated, or a Pastel Rainbow set in which the colours are light pastel shades. The full skeins available in the update are all variegated colourways, some of which are OOAK Cottage Originals blending some of our most popular colourways together.

Carlisle Fingering is our Superwash Merino singles yarn and is soft, smooth, smooshy and cloud-like. It knits/crochets into a soft, snuggly fabric with a little bit of a fluffy halo, but nonetheless good stitch definition. It comes out light and airy, but warm and cosy at the same time. Also still available on the website are a selection of full and mini skeins of our sparkly Nateby 4ply yarn, including mini skein fade sets, and Bowland DK from our last update.

Recently added to the website, we also have a new project bag design. It features Victoria’s Bluefaced Leicester sheep design which can be found on other Eden Extras such as the Notions Pouches and Tote Bags as well as the most recent dyelots of Milburn 4ply and Milburn DK.

The Yarnover Truck’s Yarn Club is open to new members until June 15th, 2019. Our goal is to bring a little more happiness into all our lives though beautiful hand-dyed yarns, new knit and crochet patterns plus some fun club extras!

Apple Tree Knits has once again agreed to be our dyer for the yarn club and she has done an amazing job in turning our themes into six gorgeous gradient colorways. The themes are California Vineyards, Museums & Art, The Yarnover Truck, Fall, Sunsets at the Ocean and Relaxation. We have 12 knit and crochet designers creating new pieces and all club members will be the first to see and work up these patterns.

Packages get sent out every other month, with the first one arriving in July. Sign-up and get all the details on our website.

It’s that time again. WayfaringYarns quarterly Yarn Grab is up on the Sweater Sisters site! I’m taking pre-orders for the stunning summer palette colors through Saturday, June 15th only with FREE SHIPPING in the U.S.

Each of the nine colors are available on my four most popular fingering weight bases:
Arcadia Fingering – 100% Extra Fine Merino – 4 ply
Monaco – 100% Extra Fine Merino – single ply
Wayfarer – 80% Extra Fine Merino/10% Cashmere/10% nylon
Shangri-La – 75% ULTRA Fine Merino/25% Mulberry Silk

NEW Apex glazed
NEW Apex marbled
Named after Apex, North Carolina, these colors evoke the place of my childhood and represent the best parts of a child’s southern summer: watermelons, homemade peach ice cream, blue skies, huge oaks and pine trees, a creek in the woods with mossy banks, and bright, happy days with sisters and friends.

Guanajuato glazed is inspired by the gorgeous, colonial silver mine town in central Mexico, the birthplace of the artist, Diego Rivera.

NEW Denver glazed
NEW Denver marbled
Who doesn’t love the cool tones always present in the Mile High City? These colors are the blue-greens of Denver’s towering evergreens and mountain lakes.

Alta glazed is the namesake of my home, Alta, Wyoming, a tiny Rocky Mountain town with the Grand Tetons against the backdrop of the blue sky.

NEW Disney World glazed
NEW Disney World marbled
This color is the result of the Favorite Place Giveaway held last fall in the WayfaringYarns Design Facebook group. The winning photo inspiration for this yarn was Cinderella’s castle at night surrounded by fireworks.
Vegas, Baby! glazed is an iconic fluorescent pink inspired by the famous Las Vegas sign by the Flamingo Hotel.

All orders will be shipped within two weeks.

I’ve dyed up a few of my favorite colourways on two gorgeously soft and fluffy laceweight yarns. Both are delicate but strong with a gorgeous halo. Perfect for creating a wispy lacework feature or floating along with another yarn like my Choufunga Sock base.

Float Your Goat: Brushed Kid Silk Lace – 72% Kid Mohair and 28% Silk.
Each 50g hank is about 459 yards / 420 meters. Colourways pictured are Not So Fresh Zombie and Siren.

Fluff Lace: Suri Silk Lace – 74% Baby Suri Alpaca and 26% Mulberry Silk.
Each 50g hank is about 328 yards / 300 meters. Colourways pictured are Turquoise No. 1, Green as Glass, Fawn and Selkie Coat.

I have limited amounts of these yarn bases, so won’t be dyeing up a large selection. But if there are any of my repeatable colourways you would like to have, I’m happy to dye then up as special orders.

The shop is packed with color right now!

Are you looking for a the newest colorways? See the in-stock yarn section. It is packed with all new vibrant, saturated colorways dyed on the Lovely Sock base, a 75% Superwash Merino and 25% nylon blend, 460 yards per 100 grams.

Do you love a semisolid, but a full skein of sock yarn is too much? Check out our half-size skeins of Lovely Sock at 231 yards per 50 grams. They are perfect for making stripes, doing colorwork, or knitting your own shorty socks.

Do you prefer a different yarn weight or a different base yarn? Are you looking for a sweater quantity? Then see my dyed-to-order listings. Color offerings change frequently. Orders for the current colors — Very Starry and Thunderboom, plus six coordinating semis and tonals — close June 9. Very Starry and Thunderboom are available as a variegated yarn, a self-striping yarn, or as a fade set. So many choices!
