Four independent Colorado yarn-dyers (Bad Lux Designs, The Conifer Collective, Huck & Rae Fiber Studio, and Spindrift Fiber Boutique) partnered to source and develop a unique blend of heritage wools from our region. Working with local shepherds at Cedar Mesa Ranch who care for Navajo Churro sheep (a heritage breed), as well as a local mill for spinning, each dyer carefully hand dyed a skein to craft a coordinating five-skein tonal color palette for this collaboration. One skein in each palette has been left in its natural state — beautifully un-dyed so that you may experience the pure joy of this exclusive blend. As wool lovers first and foremost, we have learned that the best way to save endangered sheep breeds is to give them a job — So let’s put this wool to work!
Inside your special five-skein box, you will encounter a one-of-a-kind blend of heritage breed wools.:
FIBER: 15% Navajo Churro / 20% alpaca / 65% Bluefaced Leicester
BASE: 2-ply, thick & thin weight (averaging DK throughout)
LENGTH: 5 skeins, each skein is approx. 125 yds = Approx 625yds total
COLORS: Boxes are available in warm or cool-toned palettes
Preorders for this box are open now through Monday, October 9th in all dyers’ shops (listed below). This box will never be crafted or offered again. Quantities are VERY limited. So please don’t hesitate if this special Colorado-made collaboration sounds like something you’d love!
