It’s been a while since we’ve done one of these updates, so bear with us! We have a lot to share with you!

We’ve had some major shop updates lately, with the release of multiple new fall colorways, along with some fun brights and neons for those who like to go for a little more pizzazz! We’ve also added quite a lot of our existing colorways across more yarn bases and are working hard to expand even more — we have a large shipment of some scrumptious 100% Superwash Merino wool in worsted weight coming in the next week or so, so expect even more of your favorites, along with some new sun surprises, to drop in the next few weeks!

Now on CrateJoy! You heard right! You can now sign up to receive either one or two of our luxury yarn base each month, along with a couple small goodies, delivered right to your door! Spaces are extremely limited, and once they’re full we won’t be opening them back up again until after the holidays, so sign up while you can! Use the code: NEWCUSTOMER to receive a discount on your first box!

Within the next week or two, you will now be able to find some of our colorways at Signature Needle Arts! As an indie dyer, I cannot tell you how honored we feel that a company that specializes in luxury knitting items would deem our yarn worthy of being in their store! For our wonderful friends in Texas, you can also find our yarn at Stitches Boutique and Lounge, located in Plano, TX!

We are hard at work on our holiday advents, now available across several different yarn weights! With just a few boxes left before we are sold out, you won’t want to miss out on these!

That’s all for now, but make sure to follow us on Instagram @cashmereandcoconutsstore and TikTok @cashmereandcoconuts for all our up to date events/releases!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

With EVERY SALE of this chain row counter, $5 will be donated to the American Cancer Society.

October may be Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but cancer refuses to be relegated to just one month. Cancer is a pernicious SOB that infiltrates lives and families. We are told to “Fight cancer” and “Stand up to cancer,” but I prefer to yell, “F *** CANCER!” And furthermore, I say, “Right in the EYE!”

Cancer sucks, is what I’m saying. So I created this row counter to remind us how we should feel about cancer. To use this chain row counter, you slide the ring with the number on the end of your needle to denote your row. The lobster clasp on the end clips to your knitted piece to keep it from falling off. You use the accompanying progress keeper as a marker to denote the “tens” of the row you are on. Pretty simple huh?

In between each number ring, letters spell out “F *** CANCER”… but fully uncensored, so that you can shout it out too! The full length of this row counter is about 25 inches, so in between your projects, you can wear this row counter as a necklace!

You have a choice of all silver with silver beads, or silver with iridescent pink rainbow beads.

With EVERY SALE of this chain row counter, $5 will be donated to the American Cancer Society.

This chain row counter fits needles up to a US10 / 6mm needle.

All items shipped in a padded envelope. Nickel free.

September has been and gone in the blink of an eye and we have been so busy! We were at the Unravel autumn yarn show at the start of September and it was so great to be back out amongst fellow yarnies. At the show we launched our newest yarn and it was added to the website after we got back. Brimham Bio Fingering is a gorgeous new yarn which blends Superwash extrafine Merino with biodegradable nylon. Biodegradable nylon fully breaks down in five years in landfill conditions but until that point will be as durable as normal nylon. You can wear it and wash it in the same way as you normally would. There is a blog post about the biodegradable nylon — and the yarn in general — in production, which should be released soon. This yarn has 430m/100g (it’s being marketed as a 3ply “light fingering” by our suppliers) and is a little finer than your standard 4ply/fingering weight but still works up really well in 4ply/fingering-weight patterns.

A group of members of The ECY Garden Facebook group have tested this yarn for us and found it to be soft as you would expect from the extrafine Merino but also that it has great stitch definition and gives good drape. A few people said they found that it doesn’t have a lot of give when knitting (possibly if tension is tight? Claire and I haven’t found it to be the case so I’m wondering if it’s a tension thing) but it does bloom when you wash it for blocking. It has been used in hats, mitts, socks, shawls and a top, as well as both knitting and crochet. The projects included lace, cabling, brioche and colourwork, all of which the yarn coped really well with. More information about these projects will be in the blog post which is coming very soon! The overall verdict: they LOVED it!

Two other yarns recently restocked on the website are Hayton 4ply and Keld Fingering. These are both very popular yarns and we are thrilled to have them both available at the same time. Keld Fingering is a blend of Merino and linen. This yarn has a really unique appeal in that the linen does not take the colour in the same way as the Merino wool. This gives the yarn a rustic marled effect which is more prominent in darker colours. The yarn is soft enough for next to skin wear and you can’t feel the linen; despite it visibly sticking out it isn’t itchy at all!! The update is very autumnal with some seasonal colourways alongside many others. Hayton 4ply is Merino, Cashmere and nylon, making this yarn soft, strong and warm. It is one of our all-time classic yarns and is perfect for garments, shawls and accessories. There is a mix of autumnal shades, variegated colourways and semi-solids. We will be adding colour combinations and yarn packs over the next few days. There are lots of other yarns in the schedule for the next few months so please do keep checking back with us!

The next update after that will be Brimham 4ply and Victoria has gone pretty Halloween-y with it (well, let’s say “October-y/spooky”). We are really keen to get these on the website as soon as possible but we have been hit by Covid so are out of action for a few days (apart from admin that can be done remotely by me, Laura). We will get orders shipped when it is safe to do so but there may be some delays. If you would like to support us while we are not able to be fully operational you can do so by purchasing digital downloads of our patterns. You can find these on our website and on Payhip.

In our constant attempt to keep the stock fresh and current we have added some more older stock to the Reduced to Clear section of the website. This now also includes older dyelots of Milburn 4ply and DK so do check out the colours available in that section for a discount. As mentioned previously we are having to increase the price of Milburn when our next batch arrives. It is in production and we hope to have it in stock in October so you might get purchases in ahead of the price increase! We have also recently moved all hand-dyed dyelots from 2021 into the Reduced to Clear category so there is plenty to choose from!

Please be aware that Royal Mail have announced several more strike dates between now and the end of December which will impact the length of time orders will take working their way through the system.

Socktober is here and we couldn’t be more excited! This month is all about the socks and we’ve got some gorgeous sets just for you along with a couple of FREE downloads and more!

First up are our Socktober Sock Sets. These are gorgeous beauties and come with a full hank of sock yarn, a coordinating mini, a “Welcome to the Sock Side” bag and an exclusive Socktober acrylic pin! A limited number of these sets are available, so you want to order as soon as possible.

We’ve got two FREE downloads for this event and we think you’ll enjoy them. First up is a Socktober Sock Coloring Page so you can have some fun and plan out future socks. Secondly, we have a Sock Journal Page for you to download. Once you download these, you can print as many as you like!

Our Hurricane Ian Mystery Colorway Preorder is still available, but only for a short time. #NaCroKniSweMo is right around the corner and coming up next month! This is our annual event that runs alongside the popular #NaKniSweMo event that’s popular on social media. The idea is to stitch up an entire sweater in the month of November. But well, we have our own special take on it by including crocheters and this year, one of our suggested patterns means we’re doing our Nomadic Knits KAL at the same time! Kits are available now in some pretty amazing combos so you can choose and we can get to dyeing them up as soon as possible. Read down for more information and then be sure to click through to our website for the fine details. While you’re at it, don’t forget to download our brand new #NaCroKniSweMo Coloring Page (it’s FREE) to have a little fun planning color combos! Many of you have already placed your orders and we’ve had the honor of putting together bespoke kits for a few EWES as well! We cannot WAIT to see these awesome sweaters!

Be sure to check out our LIVE! podcast every Saturday morning at 9:30 am EST over on YouTube. We hope to see you!

This shawl lives up to it’s name. It is perfection!!! It’s big and drapey and I just want to live in it. Super easy pattern, maximum compliment potential!!

I have kits for this on my website in three options! Each kit comes with two skeins of yarn, a stitch marker by Monster Stitches designed especially for this kit and a code for the Ravelry download of the pattern by Kacey Knits. I had mine made in Plant Lady and Avocado and it’s just *chef’s kiss*. But really, any two skeins of DK are all you need for this, and I have tons of colorways — the options are endless!

”Once upon a midnight dreary….”

If you are looking for something a little soft and spooky for your project bag, this yarn set is for you! The colorways and marker are inspired by Halloween night and the glow of the moon.

1. One Pine Twist Sock Set (75% Superwash Merino/25% nylon): one full skein (462 yards) and one mini skein (92 yards)

2. One moon progress keeper by Gwenspirations

3. A couple of surprise treats.

This is a preorder and will mail out the first full week in October!

I have been a big fan of Caitlin Sheperd of @pluckypigeonknits for so many years. It’s hard to beat her original and creative design, especially when it comes to colorwork sweaters. We’ve talked about collaborating for a long time and finally her first pattern release using my yarn is today!

Blooming Peerie Cardigan is a whimsical wee knit that brings to mind the joy of early spring when coveted blooms reappear in the garden. The deceptively easy colour patterning is accomplished through a clever slipped stitch technique and only two colours per row! Blooming Peerie Cardigan is knit in the round with a raglan yoke, steeked button band, and short rows to shape the neck. The pattern is available on Ravelry.

This little cardigan is knit in my soft and lofty Sanctuary yarn. A fine 100% non-Superwash Merino wool, it has a wonderful bounce to it and lovely next-to-skin softness while still maintaining excellent stitch definition – perfect for children’s colorwork. This fun knit is pure colour happiness in wool form. Caitlin used colors Butt Naked with Prince of Darkness, Taos 2000, Salted Caramel and Mystic but I have nearly 30 colors in stock for you to choose from.
