Happy Anniversary to us! It’s been six years and we love the journey we are on to bring Olive & Two Ewe Studios to fiber lovers everywhere. Carolyn and Michelle are so thankful to all our friends and customers who have joined us along the way. We love the yarn and all the other crafty goodness, but we are especially proud and thankful for the community that’s been built around Olive & Two Ewe with love, crafts and kindness at the core. To mark the occasion, we’ve created a special anniversary colorway, Through Thick & Thin. It’s a beautiful blend of the purples and blues our fiber friends love. Fiber friends are truly the best friends!

Don’t forget to celebrate you! Our Birthday Box is a fabulous way to remember your birthday and your half birthday, too. Listings are live for the remainder of 2023 and 2024. Set it and forget and then enjoy the surprise on your special day!

Doing our best to think those cool thoughts that bring us a bit of relief from the summer heat. This week’s color story does not disappoint with all the cool purples and icy blues. Swan White, Good Girl in a glacial blue, and our special, one-time only anniversary color, Through Thick & Thin are quite the cool combination.

In this heat, there’s not a better time to stay in and stitch and so many great projects to choose from! We have all the embroidery kits and the amazingly handy Embroidery Companion Cards in the shop. These quick little projects are a great palate cleanser between your larger projects.

The Cumulus Blouse Make-a-Long is happening and we are so excited to see all the cast-on pictures in our Facebook group, The Yarny Ewes. All the beautiful shades of our Bronte suri alpaca and silk base are divine. We have sweater kits and Carolyn is doing a weekly Cumulus Diary video on our YouTube channel to guide us. It’s not too late to start this simple sweater, so come join us!

Why not commemorate your Cumulus project with a collectible pin? We have a slew of pins in the shop, including the super cool 6th Anniversary pin and the new Official Craft Inspector pins that give a nod to our furry helpers. So adorable! You’ll want to grab a Saturday Morning Ewe Crew pin banner to display all your treasured pins, as well.

It’s not too early to do a bit of holiday shopping. We’ve got a wonderful assortment of carefully curated items that make great gifts! Knit. Coffee, our locally made artisnal soaps, and so many great notions and accessories from CocoKnits and Birdy Parker. Take a little break and poke around. You might be surprised what you find!

Last but not least, we’re going live on our YouTube channel, The Traveling Two Ewe Knit, Saturday morning at 9:30AM Eastern time. Grab your coffee or tea, your yarn, and let’s have a great time together!

Fiber friends are the best friends! Thanks for being a part of our yarn community, and we’ll be back next week for more updates and adventures!

Wrap yourself in luxury with the Sedona Sunrise Wrap. This lovely shawl has always been a crowd favorite, but the original yarn is no longer in production — so when Biscotte Yarns asked if they could translate the pattern into French AND make kits for my pattern, I jumped at the opportunity!

If you’re interested in kits, please visit Biscotte Yarns to see the gorgeous color combos they’ve come up with, or visit Ravelry for just the pattern!

The Killer Queen Pullover pattern is out and ready for your needles.

The same slip stitch patterning as its namesale cowl makes the colorwork easy — you only ever use one yarn in a row, so there’s no stranding. Short row shaping at the neck gives a comfortable fit, and slightly blousey long sleeves give it some modern flair.

The pattern is written with instructions that are individualized for each size, so it’s easy to follow. Each stitch pattern is written out line by line, and there are no charts to worry about. If you’re a chart lover, no worries either! The stitch patterns are made of short repeats that are very easy to memorize.

Pattern is written for long sleeves with suggestions for how to create short sleeves.

A Woolen Yarn Box takes you to “places you knit, crochet, and make all day,” straight to your door every month! This September, a Woolen Yarn Box takes us to the farmhouse. You’ve collected the eggs fresh from the coop, some fresh apples from the orchard outside and you’ve sat down on the wrap around porch to enjoy the crisp air under a knitted throw with some hot cider…

Our subscription box transports you right to the farmhouse with scents, amazingly soft fibers, one-of-a-kind colors, and SamsTinyTrinket charms. These are never repeated or sold outside of the subscription box. We curate the boxes in small quantities so we can include amazing little goodies and extras in addition to handmade lanolin lotion bars and wool wash bars we hand pour ourselves, here at WoolenWomenFibers.

In addition to all your goodies, we include a pattern from a small business/designer! This month is the Barn Door Socks by Bloom & Create. If thats not enough- truly experience the farmhouse feels with an 8 oz candle scented like fall at the farmhouse! See all our unboxing videos on the Woolen Women Youtube Channel!

Preorders for this September box end August 23rd at midnight — and then the adventure continues on! Subscribe today only on woolenwomenfiber.com

What is included in the September box:
*Your yarn of choice (sock set or single skein)
*Two SamsTinyTrinkets coordinating to the theme (progress keepers and stitch markers are HAND CRAFTED by polymer clay artist Sami, of SamsTinyTrinkets!)
* Barn Door Socks pattern code by Bloom & Create
*A handmade chicken coop basket bag
* A handmade organic wool wash bar scented like the place you’re “visiting!”
* A handmade candle scented like the place you’re “visiting!”
* A minimum of one mystery goodie!

For those of you with scent aversion or for a more budget-friendly option, basic boxes are available that will exclude the sewn goodie and the scented goodies: yarn, one charm, and a mystery extra with pattern.

Welcome to Summer! In Oregon, we wait nine months for our non-rainy season, so summer is very exciting here. This month, we are showering that excitement into our new mini skein set, aptly named Summer Love! It’s made up of six gorgeous, hot colors that remind me of a summer beachy sunset: light plum, mint, dark aqua, watermelon, tangerine and mustard. I have had so much fun combining them as stripes and pulling out some of the colors to create new sock sets.

The Sunset Beach sock set has a light tangerine base with darker tangerine speckles for the 100-gram skein with dark aqua and mustard for the contrast minis. The Ice Pops sock set has three 50-gram skeins for all kinds of color or stripe possibilities. A white skein with dark aqua and watermelon speckles is paired with the dark aqua and watermelon skeins and together they really showcase a fun rocket pop look! It really brings back summer memories eating popsicles on the beach.

Last but not least, I couldn’t wait to use all six colors together from the DK set in a baby hat as well. So many combos here — I can’t wait to see what you come up with.

Hurray! An actual Undercover Otter shop update! It’s live right now, and features oodles of Squirm Sock in a plethora of bright colorways.

Mostly, I’ve been dyeing yarn these past few weeks, and when I come home from work, I crash on the sofa and obsess over my new hyperfocus: the videogame Hades.

I’ve always loved mythology, with my favorites being the Greek Cthonic gods and the Norwegian pantheon, so this game was right up my alley. It helps that the colors used are absolutely gorgeous and that the achievements for the game were actually attainable (yes, I have 100%-ed the game for trophies. I still need to get some in-game stuff done, but in all, I’m almost done).

Anyway, I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t bother you lot with this newfound passion, so the entire shop update this August is themed around this video game.

Stay awesome!
Aiden

Put away the tinsel and the holly,
Change your mood from being jolly;
As summer breezes turn to fall,
We must say It’s Halloween Ya’ll!!! (no plans to quit day job for poetry career)

Even though it’s just turned August, and temperatures are still so hot, we are dreaming of October when the weather turns cooler, and pumpkins, changing leaves and warm spices abound. One of our favorite fall colorways returns to usher in autumn: Forbidden Wood. With all the shades of fall tempered by deep, dark shades of wine and dark forest magic, this colorway is a beautiful path to your autumn projects.

The Halloween Treat….31 Days of Mystery is still in the shop for a limited time. Surprise and delight yourself every day in October with yarn and goodies. These will ship in plenty of time to start your journey on October 1. This is a sock and color lover’s dream with over 1,200 yards of yarn in 18 10-gram micro-minis and a full size hank.

If you didn’t get to treat yourself last week, we still have our preorder for Barbie’s Party Pack open for a short time. All the pinks and brights you’d expect to celebrate our favorite fashion doll. This party pack features 10 mini hanks on your choice of fingering or DK base. Make a fabulous shawl or trim a bevy of socks with these beauties.

A shot of color for the shop as we restock with Heliotrope, Cavendish and Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy on a variety of bases, and wait til you see Pretty in Pink on Brontë.

Sparkle never fails to delight, and our special selection of Dickens and O.Henry yarns are just the thing to help you shine a little brighter.

There are just a few Christmas in July items left in the shop. Check them out for gift giving or for yourself — a little retail therapy counts as self-care! Also in the shop are all kinds of goodies, from fancy scissors, to embroidery kits and the neatest little embroidery stitch reference cards

Are you making the Cumulus Blouse with us in our Make-a-Long (MAL)? We cast on August 1st, but you can still get your yarn order in and catch up with us. After taking a month off, August’s Travel the World club is back and staying close to home.  This month is Minnesota Lakes!

Minnesota is the state of 10,000 lakes and it really lives up to it’s name!  Summers here mean every weekend you’re at the lake. Whether you’re hanging out with friends at the local lake, or headed up north to the mountains, there’s just something special about that time.  Maybe it’s because we know we have to maximize our outdoor time before winter comes!!!

So this month’s color celebrates those weekends.  Shades of green to capture the forests, light blue to reflect the water, and a bit of cream to represent the sandy shores of the lakes!

Available on all the bases from suri to worsted!

Preorder will stay open until August 10th, with orders starting to ship by mid-month. All orders will be shipped by the end of August.
