May Full Moon The Flower Moon is Rising at Teton Yarn Company

The May Full Moon, the Flower Moon is up at Teton Yarn Company. The Flower Moon is when wildflowers begin to bloom in earnest across the Teton Landscape. For the Flower Moon, I picked the colors of the many Teton Wildflowers: Paintbrush, Lupine, Mule Flower, Bluebells, Phlox, Flowering Sage and many more.

The Flower Moon will be a full lunar eclipse for us in the Grand Tetons in addition to being a Super Moon where the moon will appear bigger than normal in the night sky. With the lunar eclipse in mind, I picked my new yarn base Yosemite to the create the Flower Moon. Yosemite is a 2-ply Superwash Merino with one ply having black merino. Yosemite is perfect for wraps, shawls and garments, being incredibly squishy soft with great bloom. My free pattern available on Ravelry, the Teewinot Shawl will be perfect for Yosemite.

I dyed several new color ways of Yosemite to showcase this amazing new yarn base: Take a Hike in honor of the many hundreds of miles of amazing trails in the Grand Tetons, Where the Buffalo Roam for the herds of bison that graze in eastern Grand Teton National Park and Desert Bloom after an amazing raft trip on the San Juan River of Southern Utah.

Subscriptions and Preorders Open

Preorders are open for the 2021 December Fiber Advents. Two themes to choose from this year. Each advent will include 24 small packages and one large package of fiber for a total of 10 oz of ready to spin or felt fiber, plus a couple non-fiber surprises. Spin, felt or craft your way through December!

Subscriptions are open for the Fiber Club inspired by Star Gate. This club will include 3 releases of fiber and handmade polymer clay buttons. Subscriptions close June 1.

New for 2021 – Spa Day CSA. This non-fiber CSA is an assortment of handmade soaps, moisturizers, and a spa cloth. The soaps and moisturizers are handmade in small batches in the studio and all items are made with no added fragrances. This would be a wonderful treat for yourself or gift for that special person.

Late last year, as I was setting out some of our Small Batch colourways for a virtual show, I realised just how much we really enjoy exploring colour to create new and unique colourways, especially for our club members.

As much as we love our standard colours, it’s our club colourways we really pour our hearts into, because our club members are the kind knitters and crocheters that I love most: yarn adventurers who embrace exactly these kinds of colour explorations. They get us… and we get them.

And there’s no one who lives up to the title of “Yarn Adventurer” quite like our Yarn Alliance members because, when you become a member of the Yarn Allliance, you’re on a journey with us to explore colour. Yes, it’s true that you never quite know what’s going to be in your parcel and that is all part of the fun — every colourway is a surprise, a chance to stretch your imagination and challenge your creativity.

And every colourway is a direct connection between us as dyers and you as a maker — unique and new and created only for you as an adventurer with us in the Yarn Alliance.

Spring migration is in full swing and the forests are coming alive with the vibrantly colored birds! Birds are my favorite markers to make and birding is one of my favorite activities, so I’m pleased to add some Baltimore Orioles to the shop. If Orioles aren’t your thing, there are plenty of other birds and I hope you’ll find a set that makes your heart sing! Markers are available on soldered rings, lobster claw clasps, and lever backs (new!).

We are WoolenWomenFibers, a women-owned and family-run small business — we are comprised of a mother and her twin daughters. The owner and dyer behind these gorgeous colors is a molecular scientist who now uses her laboratory skills in the dye studio to create indie-dyed yarn “down to a science!” We pair our fibers with handcrafted knitting jewelry by SamsTinyTrinkets and project bags by Aggie’s Bags to create one-of-a-kind knit and crochet kits!

This Home Alone themed box will leave you screaming like Kevin with aftershave. There won’t be any tar–covered stairs or paint can bombs flying at your head, but this Advent Box is STOCKED, and yes, we mean an actual BOX, with windows you open (no Micro Machines to step on) each day. It’s been designed and engineered from the inside out just for us and our Home Alone theme.

Boxes will ship November 12, 2021 filled with:

Enchanted Woods Yarn Club

It’s Club time again, after nearly one year!

We’re pretty excited to prepare this new round, that we themed around the charm we feel for forests and woods; quite like magical places, both peaceful and bright, or mysterious and evocative.

We wanted to celebrate spring bursting forth each year at this time, when forests and woods change from one day to another,  getting more colorful with local flowers and trees, shiny with dew or rain showers, and so wonderfully misty at dawn or twilight.

So we could not avoid being inspired by the studies that Gustav Klimt, along with other gorgeous artists, made on trees and woods This was our source of inspiration to translate our ideas into hand dyeing.

The result is our personal interpretation of an enchanted wood, as seen when laying on the ground staring at the sky between branches and leaves, or on the rocky shore of a pond, surrounded by trees that are highlighted by the rising sun while the mist slowly vanishes.

We ‘ll be dyeing inspired by this environment, and the colorway will be exclusive to the club — you’ll just have to try to imagine all the little treasures that you may find in a walk through ancient trees, trying to smell the fragrant air all around.

As usual, we searched for artisans that could translate these ideas in their artwork, with an aim to provide awesome, and also useful, accessories.

Please make note of a few useful information about the CLUB:

Subscriptions will be listed in our Shop from MAY 09, 10.00 h CET.
Subscriptions will be open until MAY 16, unless they sell out before; shipping will take place in early June.
We decided to list only a limited quantity of bundles, because they are hand crafted especially for this event and all unique.
Each club box will include 200g of our A Stormy Blend – Perla, a blend of Italian Wool and Alpaca in its natural fawn hues, hand dyed exclusively for the Club, and two different accessories, curated by our lovely partners Anna of La Pinotteria and Marika&Sara of Cera una bolla.
You’ll have the possibility to add more skeins if you’d like to have a wider yardage of the exclusive color.
