We recently released the mood board for the second quarter of 2022 our Studio Series Club Memberships and it’s full of all kinds of moody blues!

You have two options to choose from for your club subscription. You can pick between our NoDa Sock base (75/25 Superwash Merino/Nylon, 463 yards, 100 grams) and our Biddleville DK base (100% Superwash Merino, 250 yards, 115 grams). Customers who choose the three, six or twelve month options will be locking in their base selection for the period in which they sign up.

Sign up on or before April 15th to get April’s club colorway! If you purchase after the 15th of the month you will receive the club for the following month. Club orders ship the last week of the month. Additional skeins are also available each month. If you’d like more than one skein of a shipment or a second skein on a different base, place your order before the 15th.

Spring Finals is the final set of colors to our seasonal collections. A time of year where the end of the cold harsh winter days are coming to a close, the days are getting longer and we are crawling out of cold dark blanket piles into warm fields and open windows. The start of lazy peaceful days falling into a new romance novel or story of your choosing and those small details that you hold onto to keep you going through the rest of the year.⁠ Introducing four new coordinating colors inspired by warm mornings and fuzzy feelings while reading.

A Blush Crept: A delicate pink peach with speckles of gold, saffron and warm greens and browns. A flush upon the yarn not unlike the one you cannot stop as a quick remark brings on warm feelings you didn’t dare acknowledge until now. Pondering if its the new heat of the day or something else. ⁠
Opia: Warm gold under toned greens springing to life. A (in the most loving sense) swampy green tonal invoking the warm lush sense of a forest in bloom
Deny This: Warm charcoals with brown to gold undertones. This shadowy tonal embracing secrets that threaten to come into the light. A command or a challenge to fight those dark warming feelings.⁠

Spring Equinox: A sale, new sets, and a giveaway!

The spring equinox is upon us. Huzzah! I’m sure many of us are looking forward to warmer temperatures and hopefully fewer gray days. So, I thought I’d take the opportunity to mark the change of seasons in a few ways:

To start Crafter Gamer Geek will be having its first sale! From Friday 3/18 through Sunday 3/20 many of the items in the shop will be 15% off. No code is required, eligible items will be automatically discounted at checkout. Orders of $35 or more always qualify for free shipping to US customers.

Next up, I’m releasing three new sock sets inspired by characters from Genshin Impact. These new colorways are called Divine Strategist, Unluckiest Adventurer, and Conqueror of Demons. Each set includes one 100g skein (approx. 437 yards) and one 20g skein (approx. 87 yards). That’s 524 yards of 85/15 merino nylon squishy goodness! Each of these new colorways has its own vibe that I am just absolutely loving. I hope they resonate with you as well! These new sets will be added to the shop on Friday morning.

New Colorways, New Sock Project Bags, Summer Knitting Box!

The first three months of the year have been racing by, and today it was finally 56 degrees in the frozen tundra of Minnesota! While I’ve lived here long enough to know that we may still get dumped on with snow a couple more times, the sunshine and birds chirping today helped to remind me that spring is REALLY on its way!

Our Summer Knitting box is nearly sold out, so if you want to grab 24 stunning mini skeins, along with some really fun full-size gifts, head on over and grab yours before they’re gone! We are offering two different bases, both our Basic 75/25 Merino Nylon Sock and our MCN sock, which features some truly squishy Merino Cashmere (and is my personal favorite!).

Several new colorways have been released in the last couple weeks, including several from the start of our Outlander Subscription box. We don’t release these skeins until a full six months has passed from when they were originally released, and when they’re gone, they’re gone! While they don’t come with the fun Outlander-themed gifts, you can always grab our most recent month’s Outlander Box as a single purchase, or sign up for either a three- or six-month subscription. For those Outlander fans who are eagerly anticipating each weeks episode of Season 6, I can promise you that this month’s box will be a lot of fun!

Murky Depths Turns Four!

It’s hard to wrap my head around the fact that Murky Depths launched four years ago this week. It both seems like I’ve been doing this for just a minute and also forever! All I know is that it’s been a great run so far and I look forward to many more years.

To celebrate, I’m having a small sale and introducing my newest base. Everything in my Etsy store will be 15% off from Thursday, March 17 through Monday, March 21. Discount will be applied at checkout, no code required.

Included will be my brand new Yakima Fingering, a Merino/silk/yak singles base. This yarn has it all – feather soft with a subtle halo, and the natural silver grey in its undyed state lends an iridescence that has to be seen. While I’ve offered the lace version of this since I opened shop, I’m so excited to introduce the fingering version which comes in oversized, 120-gram skeins for a whopping 523 yards so you can make an oversized shawl or even a sweater from just two or three skeins.

Andy Warhol Yarn Preorders Open for March

If you remember back to January, you may remember my “Andy Warhol Yarn Club.” After the success of the first two months, I have decided to start opening up preorders for the monthly colorways to the general public, for those who just cannot commit to a whole year.

For March, I am highlighting the famous Campbell’s soup can from 1962. This skein features a section of red, a section of gold and a section of white. (Final skeins will NOT have the red bleed as badly as here – I have figured out how to avoid it for the future). Preorders DO NOT include the monthly goodies, just the yarn and an art fact card.

Select your base below from my usual options – Light, Sock, DK and Sport. All skeins will be dyed and shipped by the last week of March.

Lightbeams Shawl

The Lightbeams Shawl is a magnificent shawl, covered in an intricate filigree of delicate cables on a dark background, reminiscent of light beams inside a gothic cathedral.

Working on this shawl requires attention, but the result is breathtakingly beautiful!

This big, 2/3-of-a-circle shawl is worked from the top down with radial increases. The work is divided into five sections/repeats, with increases inside each repeat every other row. Sections change their position throughout to shape the shawl in a graceful manner.

Each section starts with two symmetrical cables, or “beams,” that move away from each other, then continue moving away from other sections. To connect the beams, new cables are created that move diagonally and then form diamond shapes and pointed arches when they join. Finally, the “beams” bloom in sort of geometric flower shapes.
